Maceroni Funeral Home was founded by Bernardo Maceroni on Federal Hill in Providence in 1927. From a meager store front location on Atwells Avenue, Bernardo's son Anthony moved the funeral home to North Providence in 1956. It was one of the first facilities constructed specifically as a funeral home in Rhode Island. After the death of Anthony Maceroni in 1974, his son Bernard became the 3rd Generation to own and operate the funeral home. Even though he continues to be very active in all aspects of the funeral home, Bernie recently passed on the tradition to his nephew Anthony Hamel, who is the great-grandson of the founder Bernardo Maceroni. Anthony represents the 4th generation dedicated to compassionate and professional service to the community. Brad and Paul did a great job helping with the process. I must say Brad was excellent with the arrangements as well as the day of the service. The hardest thing was the loss of our 99 year old mother, but Brad was with us every step of the way. Our family will always truly appreciate Brads attention to every detail and his sincerity and compassion he had for every family member. I recently traveled from Seattle to Pawtucket to bury my father's ashes at St. Francis Cemetery. Anthony and the other employees at Maceroni Funeral Home made my father's gravesite service flawless! They helped both my aunt in Providence and I with arranging for Veteran's Honors for my father. The bagpiper was playing as we drove up to the family plot. There wasn't a dry eye at the service! Everything was perfect! I highly recommend Maceroni Funeral Home and Cremation Services!
