Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes were founded in 1952 by Jim and Honey Scrivner in Versailles Missouri. Their dream was to provide quality funeral service to the people in Versailles and the surrounding communities. Their goal was not selling a casket, but to truly assist a family at the time of their greatest need. Over the years Jim and Honey expanded into Stover and Russellville, where they continued to offer the same care and assistance to the families in those towns and the surrounding communities. Jim and Honey also instilled those beliefs of service and compassion in their three daughters, Mona, Sherry and Jamie, who all worked for their parents while growing up in the funeral home. More than Sixty years later Jim and Honey's youngest daughter Jamie, and their son-in-law Doug Morrow, continued the family business. Jamie and Doug purchased the three funeral homes from Jim and Honey in January of 2005. In 2021, Doug and Jamie sold the funeral homes to Jeff Page and Chris Dady. Jeff worked at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia since age 18, and Chris began working for Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor at age 13. Even though times have changed, one thing hasn't, our commitment to providing personal, professional assistance to the many families that call upon us each year. Just so you know, we are not a large establishment; which allows us the time to get to know the families we are called to serve and we wouldn't want it any other way. We may be a throwback to the days of old, but some things in life should not be processed like an assembly line and caring for a loved one who has just died is one of them.
