Kurt was a friendly face and I was always glad when I ran across him during my life. I left NY in 76 and never saw him after that. Ironically tragic he passed on my date of birth. Regards to all his friends and family.

Dear Sally and family and friends,
We think of you and the times spent together in Sayville with you and all the Brown relatives We are still at the same address in W. Sayville where I last saw Kurt many years ago. Reading these beautiful memories in the guest book, brought us closer to Kurt. His spirit lives on. A great guy. Love from The Harrells.

Kurt was briefly in my computer class at Grumman Data Institute. He knew it was the wrong place for him. He was meant for the sun and sea and he quickly returned there. I remember riding a Hobie Cat with him. Good memories. You are missed.

Sincere condolences to the family . This sad news came to me tonight while spending time with my brother Jim and Mom and we remembered Kurt surfing at Barrett Beach always with a grin . Then my brother added some fun stories including this old pal at the wheel of a VW bug on the Icy bay in winter , towing a boat full of friends!
Cherish the good memories and God Bless.

My condolences go out to all of Kurt's family. I have not seen Kurt in many many years. We spent a great deal of time together as teenagers around the beach, clamming and messing around on boats. He was full of life and adventure--had a unique spirit that was kind, fun and outrageous. You just wanted to be around him. Rest in peace, friend.

I love Kurt like a brother and am shocked and saddened. We grew up on Colton Ave in Sayville, his mom Sally and mine, Lucy were best buds. Kurt helped mold my irreverence, and that's a good thing. Much love to Bobby, Robin and especially Sally. Stay strong. Love

To Kurt's son, mom, loved ones and friends, we just want you to know how saddened we were to hear of Kurt's passing. We go back a long ways with him, especially my husband, a fellow clammer and surfer from Sayville. My husband worked for him a few times with Kurt's tree business. We will remember him fondly as the character he was. We sincerely hope you all find comfort and peace as time passes. Our sincere condolences, Roberta and John Mirabito
