I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of Newport News Fire Department’s iconic figures. Judd was truly dedicated to the fire department and was an excellent EMS provider. Judd was EMS for the Briarfield district on B-shift for over 20 years. He quickly energized the room with his presence and his terrific since of humor. Judd was a great partner and a true friend. My sorrow and sympathy go out to TJ and family. Rest in peace my brother and GOD bless.

"Jud" and I came into the Newport News Fire Department at the birth of EMS, learning as we went along. Having Jud as a partner was a wonderful experience. I think that all that worked with him would agree that he was "the greatest partner to have"....A Partner's Partner. Jud will be missed by all that he had contact with, that ever glowing smile and wonderful sense of humor. I truly believe that we were all fortunate to have know him.
I know that in the heavenly fire station he Butch Williams and the rest that went before him are already sitting around swapping old "war stories".
Rest In Peace My Brother...
