Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home on Mar. 29, 2026.
PITTSBURG – Sylvia J. Judkins, 86, of Pittsburg, passed away at her home on Wednesday morning, March 25, 2026, after a long period of declining health and with her family by her side.

She was born in Tampa, Fla., on Jan. 20, 1940, a daughter to the late Charles E. and Eleanor E. (Stanfield) Cramer. She was raised in the Tampa area and was a 1958 graduate of Chamberlain High School.

After high school, Sylvia worked briefly as a telephone operator in Florida. During a Key West road trip with her sisters, she met the love of her life, William R. Judkins, who was stationed in Florida in the Navy. After his military service, they relocated to Weare, N.H., and there they to raise their family. Both Sylvia and Bill worked at Jewel Electronics in Manchester, but Bill's love of hunting and fishing brought them to Pittsburg in 1985. She then worked at Wander Inn and other local inns doing housekeeping work.

Sylvia was a talented piano player and she loved to play music. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She also loved her many dogs over the years. Sylvia also enjoyed traveling and going on vacation with her family, especially to the beach. She was also a huge Disney fan, her favorite character always being Mickey Mouse.

She is survived by her three children: Deborah (Johnny) Elixson of Lake Butler, Fla., Laura Judkins and Billie (Raymond) Paquette of Pittsburg; three sisters, Betty Newman of Tampa, Sammie Hayes of Dade City, Fla., and Patricia (Hal) Jenson of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; as well as her beloved chihuahua, Mickey.

She is predeceased by her husband of more than 63 years, William R. Judkins in 2025, and a step-mother who she was very close to, Chris (Townsend) Cramer.

The family will have a private service on a later date.
