Richard Calliari Obituary

Calliari, Richard

Richard James Calliari, Jr., 90, longtime resident of Allouez, died Thursday, March 2, 2017. The son of the late Richard and Sophie (Marnocha) Calliari was born February 2, 1927, in Oshkosh. Dick attended St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Grade School and graduated from Central Catholic High School. Dick was a U.S. Navy veteran, and served as a Hospital Corpsman during World War II. He was stationed at Farragut Hospital, Farragut, Idaho, Philadelphia Naval Hospital, and also on the USS Consolation.

On September 1, 1951, Dick married Bernadine Borowski at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski. He later graduated from St. Norbert College. Dick was employed for 39 years as a pharmaceutical salesman and worked as a district manager for Parke Davis, Warner Lambert, and as a regional salesman for Central Pharmaceutical, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Matthew Parish in Green Bay. Dick was an avid hunter and snowmobiler and breeder of Springer Spaniel hunting dogs.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law: Mark (Pam) Calliari, Wabeno, David (Dana) Calliari, Oshkosh, and Chuck Calliari, Pittsfield; two daughters and one son-in-law: Carol Calliari, Green Bay, and Barbara (Jeff) Stepanski, Freedom; four grandchildren: Joe (Kim) and John Calliari, Dustin and Jessica Calliari; two great grandchildren: Madelyn and Kaitlyn Calliari; one brother: Gerald (Karen) Calliari; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine, on September 1, 2008; and an infant daughter, Mary.

Per Dick's request, private family services will be held.

The family extends a special thanks to Parkside Village for their compassionate care.
