I too, lost my son to this addiction in May of 2015. He was 27. I feel slighted as a mother, cheated out of sharing in the rest of his life. I know how this feels and I am so sorry you have to experience this sadness. No one deserves to lose a child whos in the prime of growing up and becoming all he can be. My guess is he is a gentle soul with a huge heart. This is always the way for those who succumb to this disease. I hope you can find peace in the beautiful soul he is and the years you got with him and in time, the good memories will bring smiles to you. The anger you have will dissipate. As a Mom myself, I almost lost my daughter at age 15 and she was in a horrible car accident and it was so sad, her best friend in the front seat died when this car hit the tree. I know we never met Beckett but your passing has affected me deeply, at 21 your life should have just begun.
Unfortunately at some stage your life became impacted by a heart breaking addiction to opioids.
My family has also been impacted by the loss of someone who was very dear to me, he passed away at 16 to the same addiction.
Too often beautiful young lives like yours are lost and I cant imagine the demons you faced that lead to your addiction.
Opioids are not forgiving and once they have a hold on you, death may feel like your only escape.
I hope more then anything you knew how much you were loved by your family and how much they will miss you for the rest of their lives.
Not only has your family been crushed by the loss of you but thousands of people you never met from all over the globe have been heart broken by your tragic passing.
May you Rest In Peace Beckett, fly high and watch over your loved ones.
