Brother Lev taught me the freshmen required course: Legal Writing and I remember his patience and appreciated his sincere effort to improve my work. Over the years as I read and enjoyed his ux' great scholarship I assumed he helped her as he did me.

Mary Ann - You and I overlapped only briefly when I first came to Mayer Friedlich, but I have very fond memories of Ed during my early years there, particularly as he delighted in teasing Hugo over lunch at the Berghoff. Please accept my sympathy. I'll keep you and Ed in my prayers.

Mary Ann Glendon -- from Cindy & Bob Southern --Bob was partner of Ed and Mary Ann at Mayer Brown in Chicago: Happiness, Hilarity, Integrity -- "Hugo, you wouldn't know the difference between Chardonay and Kool-Aid." I would want to be with you today and tomorrow, but I know what Ed would tell me. When I joked that he was a "Vatican Widower" -- given how often his beloved Mary Ann was having to be at the Vatican -- I would ask about lunch with him. He would tell me we would meet only when I had no only responsibilities. Unfortunately, with the few priests we have here, as well as graduate faculty, I am not able to be physically with you. I offered Holy Mass for Ed and all of his wonderful family this morning.
