It is with great sadness we announce that Alexander Christopher Sikora, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on November 24, 2013 at the age of 21 years. Alex will be remembered for his big, caring heart, contagious laugh, daring athleticism and even a bit of shyness. Alex loved life and his never ending enthusiasm was inspiring to his teammates, friends and family. He had a quirky sense of humour and rarely looked in the rear view mirror of life. Alex is survived by his mother Rita; father Gary; siblings, Tristan (Monica) and Nicole; grandparents, Lou and Joan Sikora; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church (corner of Northmount Drive and Northland Drive N.W.) today, November 29, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire memorial tributes in Alex's name may be made directly to the Calgary Humane Society, 4455 - 110 Avenue S.E., Calgary, T2C 2T7 or online at www.calgaryhumanesociety.ca. A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Intensive Care Unit C at the Foothills Medical Centre for their outstanding and exceptional care of our son. In living memory of Alexander Sikora, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park, Cochrane.
