Remembering Igor after 20 years....

September 12, 2019
Igor, You wil always be the face of remembrance for me of those precious lives lost on 9/11. So another year has passed and I pray for your friends and family as I know all still miss and grieve their loss. The date of 9/11 will remain a point of grief and also of love. The day all Americans and those around the world supported each other in courage, comfort and caring.

Remembering you on this day Igor. You were very nice to me the day I met you. I was a visitor that week at 2WTC, and although my presence brought uncertainty, being a contractor with the task of working the recent merger of FT and Franklin Templeton, you treated me very well and made sure I was ok, situated in the office and showed me around to some of the best views. Little did we know that it would be the one and only day that we met. The next day you were gone. I was fortunate to get out of the building the next day as I was on my way up when it all went down and was able to reverse and head out quickly.
Godspeed to you Igor. I always remember you. It was an honor to be your cube mate for a day.

Visited the 9/11 memorial today from England. I vowed to remember as many names as possible and find out a little about each. Igor sounds like a wonderful man and I wish all his family and friends that he left behind the very best xx

On this day Igor, I remember you and your family. We worked together at Wunderman. You were quiet but your one liners made me laugh. I enjoyed our interactions and the conversations about your, then, new baby. Just know that you are remembered with fondness. I pray you are resting in peace.

My class is doing a project on those who were not so fortunate to make it out alive of the terrible day of 9-11. I picked this man because, he is the last on the list. I just want to say although he is the last on the list does not mean he is forgotten. I would like to tell the family, you have my deepest compassion.

Dear Igor, You are on my mind again this night as I watched the History Channel documentary on 9/11. It will always bring tears and thoughts of your family and friends who miss you. You will always be remembered as long as I live. Each person that lost their life that day deserves our ongoing fight against the cowardly terrorists who still bring about these tragedies.

I do not know Igor, I was only 9 when the travesty happened living in a rural town in Central Florida. But I was looking through victim's names and his stood out to me- it is similar to my partner's Ukrainian last name. So Igor, know that at least one new person you never met is thinking about you on this day. I am sorry that you were not given a chance to fulfill all your dreams as a new American citizen. It sounds like you were a lovely person.

I think about Igor every 9/11. I worked with him at Wunderman and he was always the IT guy I asked for because he was so knowledgable, incredibly sweet and funny. He had such a dry, subtle wit and we both enjoyed making fun of my dismal computer skills. I'm sure he is terribly missed by his friends and family. RIP Igor.

Ten years ago I printed out 75 pages of names. All the people who died on 911. On the first year anniversary I cut the pages into strips with four or five names on them. At a ceremony here in York county Va We passed out the strips. My hope was that every one would take one name and remember.Celebrate that person, call for a toast at a family or other get together. Over the years I have gotten some very interesting looks when I raise a glass to Igor Zukelman. but toast and remember I did. When I heard the news I raised my hand and said Igor justice is done, rest in peace.

I worked with Igor at the New York Athletic Club, and hearing about his tragic loss has touched me profoundly. i still remember just how kinda and compassionate this gentle giant was. He always spoke of his family, always smiled, and worked extremely hard to give to his family. My condolences go out to his family. I appreciate the fact i shared some moments, however brief with Igor. God bless you all

I worked with and knew Igor at impiric NY (now Wunderman), in the year 2000. I wanted you to know that he is still being thought about today, and that I (and many like me) send continued condolences to you for your loss. He was a good, hard-working man, and liked by many who knew him at our office. Be well, and take care.

To Igor's Family,
Tonight it has been 4 years and I weep as though the tragedy happened today. I am so glad Igor realized his dream of becoming an American - I am proud to call such a warm and caring and funny human being a fellow American. God bless his wife, son Allan and all the family. Rest assured - you are remembered.

Igor's obvious passion for life, and strength to set and accomplish such goals is inspiring to read.

Igor is up there helping others believe in, and accomplish their dreams every day now.
My deepest sympathies to Igor's family and friends...

To the Zukelman family,
I am truly sorry for your loss. After reading about Igor, I felt the need to write and say that even though he lived a short life, he got his wish and became an American citizen. I wish there were more people like this gentle giant that is described here. It is obvious that he made a difference. Again, I am truly sorry for your loss.

Like so many I felt a need to go to the last name on the list, why? I think it was because i was afraid that you might be missed by so many, but on the contrar, you have touched so many people. I learned a little about someone who can appreciate the American dream and i hope we continue to remember your life and to appreciate what we have in our country, its a persons life that teaches us most. A person as yourself although not here, your legacy is and will live on!
You continue to touch so many,

To Mr. Zukelman's family:
I am randomly reading about victims of the 9/11 tragedy this morning and I paused to read about Igor because he is last on the WTC list.
I realize that he was a warm, caring individual and I am sure that he will be terribly missed by those of you who were fortunate to know him. I hope you will have some comfort to know that millions like me who never knew him will think of him today. He will never be just the last one on the list or a statistic. I will think of him as an individual lost that day and I will have you in my thoughts and prayers now and always. May God Bless and comfort you today and every day and may Igor's memory live forever.

I was deeply saddened when I learned of Igor's passing. I only knew him for a short time when we worked together at a direct marketing company, but my memories of Igor are crystal clear. He was so kind and so eager to help me. I couldn't have been more ignorant in computer technology, and he couldn't have been more knowledgeable and patient. He would come readily each time I called for assistance, without any complaint (about having to explain the same thing over and over to me!) and always came in with a smile. He was the kind of guy I would have liked to have known so much better. I only wish I had the chance.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
