Kamps, Garry Hudsonville Garry Kamps, age 34, of Hudsonville, is home with his Savior after a nearly 6.5-year struggle with cardiomyopathy. He is survived by his mother Nancy and Bob (Danielson) Hoekstra; father, Don Kamps; sister, Andrea and Troy Ruwersma; brother, Nicholas Kamps; sister, Susie and Chris Otterbein; 7 nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins; many friends; his beloved dog, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Helen Danielson, Nelson and Marge Kamps. Funeral services for Garry will be held on Friday, January 18, at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Grove Christian Reformed Church, 3515 Perry St. Hudsonville, MI 49426. Interment Forest Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at VanderLaan Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17, from 6 to 9 P.M. and on Friday from 10 to 11 A.M. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association. The family wishes to thank the Ottawa County First Responders, all of the Medical Staff of Spectrum Heart Center and all of Garry's faithful friends.

Gary Kamps was a great guy! I saw him a couple times per week. When ever he would show up at Shaws shop, he would come with an unforgettable smile on his face, with his loving white dog!! His last moments were priceless. He would work on his car, say hello, talk, he was kind. I remember him last driving his favorite car!! He worked hard to get his car ready for his last ride, that car meant a lot to him!! Prayers are with with you Gary. You are a great guy and you wont be forgotten.

Family of Gary,
I am so very sorry to hear of Gary's passing. He was a great guy and visited often with Charlie. Whenever my husband (Tom) could not figure something out with wiring on his car, Gary was there for the rescue. He will join his friend Tom in heaven who also just passed in December. You have my sincere condolences and may GOD look over him. For all of Gary's surviving family, Charlie and his friends, you just have to take it one day at a time.

Garry was a regular at my old work, and also worked on my car before (he hated my car). But he never gave up, he was always smiling, and always had a good sense of humor. He'll be missed by many. Prayers to Charlie & the family.
