CHARLES ADKINS Obituary





CHARLES EDWARD ADKINS, 80, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017, at Wayne. He was born October 1, 1936, at Wayne, W.Va., a son of the late Mack and Dora Adkins. He retired from the City of Huntington where he worked for the sanitary board. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt. His wife, Irene Constance Adkins, two sons, Charles Edward Adkins Jr. and Daniel Stephenson, and several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death. Survivors include four daughters, Linda Plybon (Danny) and Carolyn Plybon (David "Porky"), all of Prichard, W.Va., Patricia Smith (Rodney) of Huntington, W.Va., and Beverly Spears (Mike) of Mason County, West Virginia; a son, Tony Adkins of Huntington, W.Va.; a sister, Nada Lucas of Barboursville, W.Va.; a brother, Doffice Adkins of Wayne, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2017, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne, with Pastor Jeff Lycans and Pastor Paul Michael Booth officiating. Burial will follow at the Stephenson Cemetery at Wayne. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Morris Funeral Home.
