Bart F. Brigidi of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Glenside, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017, with his wife of 64 years, Ora Mae, by his side. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1930 and attended schools in Philadelphia. He also attended Temple University. He was the only child of the late Pasquale and Marie Brigidi Shivers.
Bart enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War in 1950 and met his future wife, Ora Mae in Spokane, WA, where they were married and moved to Glenside, Pennsylvania.
He was involved in Real Estate all of his life beginning as an apprentice for the Oscar B. Quinto Co., then at Robert's Real Estate, Walter McClatchy, Army Corp. of Engineers, and as a Vice President at Jackson Cross Co. Bart was one of the youngest members of the American Appraisal Institute and later became President of the Philadelphia Chapter.
In 1970, Bart opened his own business, Bart F. Brigidi, Inc. as a Real Estate Appraiser at the PNB Building and was an expert witness, specializing condemnation. He was also involved in building management and industrial sales. His son, David, continues the business started by his father. In 1980, he moved his business to Glenside, closer to home. He organized the Real Estate School at Manor College and taught courses at University of Wisconsin. In 1990, Bart and Ora Mae retired to Sarasota, Florida.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 children; Cathy (Peter) Mattei, Beth Mammuth, David (Renee) Brigidi, Sue (Steve) DiCicco, and John (Patricia) Brigidi; also 9 grandchildren, Lindsey and Blake Mammuth, Peter (Margie) Mattei and Brett Mattei, Matt and Marc Brigidi, Viv Peyrat, Stephen and Samantha DiCicco; 3 great grandchildren, P. J., Eleanor and Maximo Mattei.
Bart was a devout, active member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Glenside, Pennsylvania for 54 years volunteering with the ST. Vincent DePaul Society and others. Later, he became involved at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Sarasota, Florida. There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 3930 17th Street, Sarasota, Florida on Friday, July 28, 2017 at twelve o'clock noon. Burial will follow in the Memorial Garden at St. Jude's.
