Jonathan R. Moore, DO, 97, of Cardinal Village in Sewell and formerly of Bridgeton died Monday afternoon October 27, 2014. The husband of the late Isabel Spaulding Moore, who died in 1998, he was born in Bridgeton and was the son of the late Wilson and Anna Hartman Moore. He graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1935 and was a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. For 50 years, he practiced medicine in Bridgeton, first at his residence on W. Commerce Street and later at his office on N. Pearl Street. Dr. Moore lived in Bridgeton for many years and also in Greenwich before entering Cardinal Village 16 years ago.

A longtime active member of the Bridgeton community, Dr. Moore was a member of the Bridgeton Rotary Club and also the Society of Cincinnati. He and his wife were founders of the Bridgeton Symphony in 1983 (now the Bay Atlantic Symphony). He was also instrumental in establishing the Bridgeton Antiquarian League and the Bridgeton Renaissance Faire.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Carol Moore Allen and his son, Jay Reeves Moore, Esq. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Trudi H. Moore of Hopewell Twp., five grandchildren, Jennifer M. Keating, Jessica Moore Lindsey, Jay Allen, Jonathan Allen and Carrie DePasquale, 11 great grandchildren and his companion, Tessa Dehner.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Friday morning October 31st at 11 where friends will be received from 10 until 11.

Rev. John Shedwick of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbury Heights will officiate. The burial will follow at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
