COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Mr. Kent Scott, age 54, died Friday evening, July 27, 2012, at his residence in Columbia following a brief illness. Kent was born in Bulloch County and raised in the Leefield Community. He was a 1976 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. Kent's lifelong career was that of a farmer and also owner of a construction company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Zona Belle Scott; and a brother, Raymond O'neal "Neily" Scott.
He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Lou and Carl Bragg of Brooklet; his nephews, Ross Scott of Atlanta, Chris Scott of Leefield and Shane and Vivian Scott of Statesboro; a niece, Julie and Daniel Taylor of Brooklet; a great-nephew, Davis Scott; and a great-niece, Lana Taylor.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Lanes Primitive Baptist Church with Dr. Reland Morgan officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Forehand, Tim Bohler, Rolie Geiger, Robin Rushing, Gary Denmark and Bubba Prosser.
Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Clifton.

My condolence on Kent's passing. Kent's family was dear to my heart. My daughter, Amanda, told me about Kent. I am 10 years older. Kent made life fun.

We played a lot of billiards together in my house down from Leefield.
