Jack DeFeo Obituary

NEW BRITAIN

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved uncle Jack L. DeFeo, of Southington. He passed away suddenly on July 24, 2025 at the age of 67. Jack lived in New Britain his whole life and spent his last 20 years sharing his life with his nephew, Anthony Cavallo Jr. and his wife, Monique, in Southington. He was a loving and caring uncle to his nieces Gina Cavallo of Bristol, and Amy Kowynia and her husband Victor of Wolcott. He was a proud great uncle to Antonia Cavallo, Lorenzo Cavallo, Isabella Davis, and Noah Kowynia. He will also be missed by his life long best friend, Frank Copodiferro of Farmington, whom he shared many a meal (especially McDonald's). Jack is predeceased by his parents Luigi and Mary DeFeo (Andriano), sister and brother-in-law Teresa and Anthony Cavallo Sr. of Plainville and his two furry companions Roscoe I and Roscoe II. Jack took great joy in many things, most of all, being with his family and friends. He loved a good party, a great meal, and was always there smiling with a kiss and hug to greet you. He was the families keeper of information and the star in many a funny story. That one was cagey when he wanted to be! He certainly kept us on our toes. We were always kept informed of what was happening. We knew the Yankees won, it was our birthday, and it was time to set the clocks back! He enjoyed spending time with his two pitbull puppies, Ghost and Storm. Jack took great pride in graduating from the American School of the Deaf in 1978. He was a member of St. Jerome Church and men's club for many years. Jack was an avid camper who spent many summers at Hammonasett State Park. He was a dedicated fan of Yankees baseball, Clemson football, and UConn Huskies women's basketball. He was lucky to see one more Championship before he left us. We cannot express the sorrow we feel at the loss of our Uncle. He will be remembered as a pure and simple soul full of love and light. His presence in our lives will be missed immensely. But, as he always said, "what are you going to do?". We're gonna remember and speak of you often, Uncle Jack. That is what we are gonna do. Funeral services for Jack will be held Monday Aug 4th starting at 9 a.m. from the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Road, New Britain. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St. Visitation will be held Sunday Aug 3rd from 3:00 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Jack was so sweet and wonderful person. We grew up together in school at whole time from 1968 to our graduation in 1978. He was so excited to see me and hugged me often during homecoming at ASD almost every year. I miss him so much. Rest in peace friend Jack.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. He was a wonderful beautiful person. One of the most kindest person a friend could have. I´m glad we meet in high school. We will miss you.
