Mickey Perryman Obituary
Mickey Perryman
Born: September 1, 1969 | Died: July 4, 2025
Mickey E. Perryman, age 55, of Whitesburg, TN, went home to be with Jesus on July 4, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center, following unexpected complications from recent back surgery.
Born September 1, 1969, and raised in Cocke County, TN, Mickey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He is survived and deeply mourned by the love of his life and wife of 23 years, Stephanie K. (Oler) Perryman, and his beloved sons, Justin Erik Perryman (34) and Isaiah Andrew Perryman (15) - the lights of his life. He is also survived by his cherished daughter-in-law and "bonus daughter," Brittany Helton, his treasured grandson Atlas Erik Perryman (8), and "bonus" granddaughter Allie Noe (12).
Mickey leaves behind his loving and devoted parents, Warren "Ralph" Perryman and Ruby (Cline) Perryman of Newport, TN, and his dear mother-in-law ("bonus mom"), Catherine Oler. He is also survived by his precious sister, Amie "Babe" Perryman, nephews Taylos Thomas and Daniel Ray, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members who deeply loved and admired him.
Mickey was richly blessed with spiritual brothers and sisters in Christ - friends who became family. Among those closest to his heart are Kenny (Mitzi) Helbert, Pastor Jerry (Reba) Graham, Pastor Jeremy (Lynsey) Graham, Pastor Woody (Janette) Tackett, and Pastor Rip Noble - along with many others too numerous to name, each one held dear.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Katherine ("Mamaw") Perryman and Warren Perryman of Newport, and Eara ("Mamaw") Talley Cline and Herchell Cline of St. Tide Hollow; and father-in-law Tommy J. Oler of Whitesburg, TN.
Those who knew Mickey quickly came to understand the foundations and driving forces of his life: an unshakable love for God and his family, an extraordinary work ethic, and a passionate desire to fulfill God's purpose. Having been miraculously delivered and fully restored from addiction and the brink of death, Mickey spent his remaining years boldly sharing his testimony - committed to reaching and helping others in bondage to find that same freedom in Christ.
Mickey's gratitude and devotion to Christ was evident not only in his words but in his actions. He worked tirelessly, often from daylight to dark, to provide for his family and to give generously to people and causes God placed on his heart. His fierce, abiding love for his family, and his sacrificial heart, reflected the deep transformation Christ had wrought in his life.
While those who loved him take comfort in knowing Mickey is now in the presence of the Lord, the shock and the loss he leaves behind is profound. He made a difference in the lives of many, giving all glory and honor to Jesus Christ for allowing him to live and fulfill his purpose on earth. It is the fervent prayer of his family that his testimony will continue to encourage and bear fruit for generations to come.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support shown during this difficult time. Our beloved Mickey will be sorely missed - until we are reunited on that beautiful shore.
A memorial service will be held at New Hope at the Gap Church in Bulls Gap, TN. Date and time will be announced soon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward final expenses or given as the Lord leads.
