Our friendship with Mrs. Nappier began more than 30 years ago when we met her as members of Union Wesley AME Zion Church. She was a straight shooter who had a bubbly personality and lots of charisma. Mrs. Nappier loved her family, and we enjoyed her animated stories about them, particularly her husband, Bill, and daughter, Renee.
We found Mrs. Nappier to be a woman of strong faith, who was known and loved throughout Zion. She was a prayer warrior, and several years ago she compiled her prayers in a booklet and gave us a copy. When she served as the leader of the Acolyte Ministry, we saw how she used her God-given gifts to teach and prepare the youth to become adults with good christian values. Likewise, she used here gifts in her professional career, receiving many accolades and awards.
Mrs. Nappier had another side - a quick wit and a sense of humor. She was always full of energy and we would tease and call her frisky. We will always remember her trademark comments at the end of our conversations. With a twinkle in her eyes, she would playfully say to us "I love you both, but him the most".
Mrs. Nappier enjoyed a long, rewarding life. We loved her, and will miss her, and are thankful that she left us with many wonderful memories.

I met Dema about 25 years ago when she was working for the NASA Alumni League in DC. In the office environment, Dema was a force to be reckoned with! We kept in touch over the years since her retirement. Dema was a remarkable woman who will be greatly missed.

My mother and Mrs. Nappier graduated from Chambersburg in 1941, one of my brothers told me this morning at breakfast that he has mom's graduation yearbook and Mrs. Nappier had written an entry in it, how cool is that!
Mrs. Nappier must have lived a wonderful life, so sorry it came to an end, RIP.
