William VanDuyne Obituary

William Christian "Chris" Van Duyne

Reno - With heavy hearts we said a final goodbye to son, brother, and uncle William Christian "Chris" Van Duyne on Sunday December 10th at 8:00pm. Chris joined his father with Our Father after a 3 month courageous battle with cancer. He passed away at home surrounded by his loving mother and two sisters. Chris lived a very full and rich, albeit short life. He maintained a healthy lifestyle with excellent diet, fitness and avid reading. His education background included an economics degree from SDSU followed by a Law degree and Masters in International Business from the University of San Diego. Over the last several years he worked as a Certified Financial Planner with Morgan Stanley while maintaining his California Bar. He was so much fun, laughed easily and maintained an excellent sense of humor to the very end of his life. Although he is terribly missed, we are comforted that he is now in a higher place and knows peace.

My Name is Larry Fine I went to SDSU with Chris , we worked out everyday , went to classes everyday studied Biology and Science . Chris was one of the smartest guys I have ever met . We had a blast always , going to Moose Mcgullycuddies and Diego´s in SD . Finding this news really has me upset that I don´t reach out to my friend for over 20 years . I to a cancer survivor wished I could have helped some how some way . RIP Duyne Man I will never forget you .

I am truly saddened to hear of Chris passing . He was a friend and workout partner of mine . We spent many evenings in the gym on the bench press , doing pull-ups,burpees or whatever new workout he had for that day. I hated to do some of his regiment but one thing was certain he was always going to push me to do my best and may times exceed what I thought was humanly possible. And for that I will always be grateful. He was such a high energy spirit he never seemed to let anything get him down and because of that I will try my best to carry on those outstanding qualities in remembrance of him.I had not been to our old gym in quite some time so this has been a told shock . I would just like say Bye or see ya later to my brotha at the gym Chris V you will be forever missed .

I just learned of Chris's passing.. I'm so stunned... he was my financial planner for years.. he was always so helpful, kind, generous, and funny... he cared so deeply about the foster kids my non profit organization serves.. he sponsored a fundraiser for their education... he was such a wonderful man... blessings upon him as he journeys through all the realms of eternity.

Chris was my neighbor and when I had any questions about nutrition he was right their giving me more then just the answer to my question, he went way beyon to help others. When I found out about the news of his passing it broke my heart. He was the nices guy you will ever come across. He loved animals and always opened up his door to let this black cat who lived in the front apartments come into his house to just hang out with him. He was very upbeat and positive, always said hello to me with what a beautiful day it is. I am so sad he will be missed and he will always be in my prayers. Chris will make many friends in heaven that's just who he is.

Chris, you were my brother for so many years. I know you have found peace in heaven. We all will never forget you. You touched so many lives with your passion and kindness. As I look across to your empty office I am reminded to carry on your legacy and be the best of Chris that I can possibly be. You are deeply missed.

Chris was our financial adviser at Morgan Stanley. He also oversaw my parents accounts and helped tremendously with the finances upon their death. He treated people kindness and respect. I will miss his enthusiasm and his contagious laugh.

I was a client of Chris's. More than that he was a friend, guiding me through the demise of my own husband. I will miss him and his smiles, guidance, and support.

Deeply sorry to learn of the recent passing of Chris Van Duyne. He was a very special person with a deep sense of humanity and many talents. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family, friends and colleagues at Morgan Stanley. He was a loyal advisor and supporter of my Mother and Father and a faithful friend to my Mother who passed after my Father in 21 May of this year. He and I often discussed ideas having both studied philosophy at SDSU. I will remember with great fondness his sense of humour and hearty laughter which was infectious. He was simply a joy to know.
