June Short Obituary

June Ina Short, 98, of Ludington, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 26, 1927, in Port Huron, the daughter of John and Ida (Young) McEachern.

June was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed sewing, knitting and canning her own jams and jellies. She worked for several years as a playground supervisor at South Hamlin Elementary School.

June was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

June is survived by: her children, Donald Short, Daniel (Laurie) Short and Susan Short; 3 grandchildren, Adam (Jackie) Short, Sarah Short and Nathan Short; 2 great-grandchildren, Micah Short and Elias Short; her goddaughter, Ellen Hoover; and several nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by: her husband of 57 years, Raymond E. Short in 2003; her sisters, Janet Moses, Marion Cairnes, Helen Wagner and Josephine McNeil; and her brother, John McEachern Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, with Pastor Ryan White officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church.
