James H. "Bo" Henderson

Born: June 12, 1943 | Died: September 22, 2025

James "Bo" H. Henderson age 82 of Maryville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 22, 2025. He was a member and served as a deacon at Madison Avenue Baptist Church. He was retired teacher from Blount County, where he was a former director of vocational school, GED program, and basketball coach at Greenback High School and Porter High School. He graduated from Maryville College in 1966.

As a devoted and faithful servant of Christ, Bo led a life of love, humility, integrity, and kindness. He prioritized his love for the Lord and his family, and was a guiding light to so many others. His memory will forever be a blessing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Shinnie" and Rose Henderson. Brother, Dub Henderson.

Bo is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Henderson; sons, James "Jimbo" (Tracy) Henderson, and David (Michelle) Henderson; grandchildren, Amanda (Andrew) Alden; Scott (Stephanie) Henderson; Tyler (Anna) Henderson; Blake (Taylor) Henderson; sister Linda (Don) Morton; five beautiful, great granddaughters; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 1918 Madison Ave., Maryville, TN 37804. Receiving friends from 5:00 till 6:30 PM. Memorial service will immediately follow visitation.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Madison Ave., Baptist Church building fund.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
