Annette Bess Obituary
She married Luther "Ed" Bess in Groton, May 6, 1967. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
She loved life to the fullest and was involved in many activities. She loved her family and had the honor of being a part of two five generations back-to-back.
She is survived by her son Paul A. Buskey and wife Kathy, of Ledyard; and her daughter Andrea Bunnell, of Niantic; three grandchildren, Jason Thorton, Laurice Panzella and Gina Bingham; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Steven and his wife Cathy Gudeahn. She was predeceased by her husband Ed; her brother Joseph; sister-in-law Alice; and nephew Michael Gudeahn.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames Street, Groton. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic. A calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Please visit www.byles.com for directions or to sign the guestbook.

So sad to see this. She lived a good long productive life. Many memories of playing with my rummy partner and sharing Navy life. I didn't realize Annette was still in her own home. That's where we all want to be.

Aunt Annette was always ready to see the good in people. We spent many Sunday dinners with family eating spaghetti and laughing at the old memories. We will miss her.

Meme was one of a kind. She loved visiting us and watching the dogs play for hours. She adored the goats and chickens. Laughed a lot at Adam Sandler movies. And would stare at the star on top of our tree at Christmas time because she was afraid it would catch the wood ceiling on fire. I'll never forget that. She could eat anyone under the table. Was always cold. Taught me to be a cut throat rummy player. And absolutely loved seeing her great grandkids. She will always have her special spot in our couch. We will love you always Meme
