Description
Hyke Funeral Home is family owned and operated. We are honored to continue the tradition that was started over 100 years ago by the Coleman family and carried on by the Thelen family. We are committed to providing service that is personal, compassionate, and detail-oriented. Every family we work with is treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. We will guide your family in creating a meaningful ceremony to honor the life and memory of your loved one. We truly believe that it is a privilege to serve families during such a difficult time in their lives. Assisting families with celebrating the life of their loved one who has been lost is of the utmost importance to us. A funeral service is a way for families to show their love for their loved one and a way for those left behind to begin the healing process. We are here to personalize each service as each family is unique in its wishes. Our facility includes a Chapel that seats 120 people. We are privileged to have a baby grand piano for our services which was generously donated by Raymond Ernster in 2017. The Coleman Room will seat 80 people and is used for family display items for services as well as overflow from The Chapel. Our showroom features 15 full caskets as well as a vault display area. We have expanded our urn and urn vault display. We have headstone granite samples and headstones on display in the showroom. On the southeast side of the funeral home, we have more samples of the headstones available through the company we sell for - Sunburst Memorials. Our lobby, main office, washrooms, and arrangement office were all renovated in the fall of 2016. Improvements in 2017 included adding a large window for viewing between The Chapel and The Coleman Room and a new oak chapel lectern. A new state-of-the-art audio and visual system were installed for use in the lobby, The Chapel, and The Coleman Room in 2018, including large-screen televisions in the service rooms. In the fall of 2019, new carpet was installed in The Chapel. Clyde Harr built a custom cabinet at the door with a granite countertop for register books, memorial cards, and a locked drop box for cards. As well, both The Chapel and the Coleman Room received new lighting and paint. Livestreaming equipment was purchased in 2020 and Lynn Brace designed and made custom oak flower stands to display all the flower arrangements, plants, and memorial gifts for services at the funeral home. An automatic front door was also added. Professional landscaping, as well as a new irrigation system, was added in 2021. Early in 2022, Clyde Harr designed and made a custom register book stand with a locked card box for the Coleman Room. New and improved outdoor lighting was also added to illuminate the parking lots better.
