HELEN FRANCES BEATY GORDY

GORDY, HELEN FRANCES BEATY age 90, of Birmingham, Alabama and Panama City Beach, Florida, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011, after a short illness. She retired from Service Bureau Corporation, a subsidiary of IBM, and was a member of Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church. She is predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Ernest M. Gordy, Sr. She is survived by her sisters, Martha Cole Bottomley and Mary Jim Hancock, her children, Marisha Gordy Hall (Billy), Ernest M. Gordy, Jr. (Martha), and James B. Gordy, her granddaughter, Dawn Gordy Bush, her great grandchildren, Cody Bush and Samantha Clements, her great great-grandson, John Riley Bush, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be October 5, 2011 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel at 10:00 A.M. Graveside service to follow at 11:00 A. M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Presbyterian Home for Children, Talladega, Alabama.
