Marion Rutherford

Died December 12, 2012 at the age of 76. He was born January 31, 1936 in Cave-In-Rock, IL to the late Adrian Rutherford and Mary Alice Rutherford Truman. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Batt on August 16, 1958, who survives. Marion was a life-long resident of the Galesburg-Augusta area. Most of his entire working life, 42 years, were with the Upjohn Company, where he retired as a Head of Upjohn Brook Lodge Conference Center. Marion leaves behind his wife, Marilyn Rutherford of Galesburg; his children, Stacey (Mark) Meyers, Bradley Rutherford and Karen Rutherford, all of Galesburg; grandchildren, Erin (Jon), Matthew, Emily, Katie, Jessica and Levi; great-grandson, Maddax; brother, Donald Rutherford; cousin, Shirley Nerone; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Marion in death was his sister-in-law, Nancy Rutherford. Family will greet friends on Monday, December 17th from 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St., where a funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 18th at 1:00 PM, Rev. Whitney Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Cemetery.
