Nancy Halloway Obituary
Age 71, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 18, 2012. She was born August 3, 1941 in Ypsilanti, the daughter of August and Ann (Duey) Markva. She grew up in Ypsilanti. Nancy married Henry D. Halloway USMC and spent the next 25+ years raising her three sons and moving all over the country as military families do. She was an accomplished artist and taught oil painting for a time. After Nancy was divorced, she met Bill Phillips and they spent the next 25 years as close companions. They enjoyed many memorable times over the years and maintained that special bond until her passing. She is also survived by: her sons, Dale (Miyuki), Mark (Sandy) and Bruce (Lori); eight grandchildren, Keiji, Erika, Jiei, Kurt, Konner, Samantha, Evan and William; her sister, Shirley Carrillo; and nieces and nephew, Heavenly, Mark and Cinthya. They and everyone who loved her will miss her greatly. The funeral service will be 4 pm Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Stark Funeral Service with Rev. David A. Hendricks of Emmanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Private burial will take place in Cadillac Memorial Gardens West in Westland, MI. The family will greet friends at the funeral home 6-9 pm Friday.
