Marcia Crawford Obituary
Marcia Crawford, age 72 of Byron, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 22,2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. Pastors Beverly Marr and John Walworth will be co-officiating, with burial to follow in Byron Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Byron Friends of the Fireworks, the Byron High School Bowling Team, or Crossroads Clinic, Guthrie, Oklahoma. Marcia was born in Bancroft on September 17, 1940, the daughter of Elmer and Bernadine (Steele) Lucas. She was a graduate of Byron High School, class of 1958. She married the love of her life, Raymond Crawford on July 11, 1959 at the Byron Methodist Church. She lived most of her life in the Byron area. Marcia was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and soon to be great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking (she was a fabulous cook), having friends in for coffee, going out to the lake for a boat ride and taking care of her beautiful yard. Marcia was a friend to many. Surviving Marcia is her daughter Robin (Bruce) McNier of Byron; son, Lennie (Gina) Crawford of Guthrie, Oklahoma; grandsons, Kyle (JoAnna) Crawford of Norman, Oklahoma, Lucas McNier of Byron and Jordan (Sable) Crawford of Mulhall, Oklahoma; soon to be born great-granddaughter, Mylee Grayce Crawford; brother-inlaw, Gordon Crawford; many nieces and nephews and special familly friends, Margaret Barnett and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Crawford; parents, Elmer and Bernadine Lucas; brothers, Jim and Roger Lucas; sisters, Pauline Bruff and Norma Crawford; and nephew Mark Bullard. I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR THIS, MARCIA WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL GAL! SHE USED TO BABYSIT MY COUSINS AND I WHEN WE WERE LITTLE, SHE WAS OUR FAVORITE BABYSITTER, SHE ALWAYS MADE US CHOCOLATE FUDGE, AND OTHER GOODIES. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL WIFE, MOTHER, AND FRIEND TO MANY..I KNOW ROBIN WILL MISS HER SO MUCH, I ALWAYS LOVED HOW, WHEN YOU SAW ONE OF THEM, THE OTHER WAS THERE TOO..SENDING HUGE COMFORTING HUGS!
