Orpha Branstetter

Orpha Branstetter, 100, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 in Springfield, MO.

She was born June 29, 1913 in Mansfield, MO to Willie Burton and Millie (Bowman) Mallory.

Orpha graduated from Mansfield High School, attended MO State Teachers College and University of MO in Columbia. She taught 13 years in a one room schoolhouse and was the director of Gasconade Co. Division of Family Services for 20 years. She was an avid quilter who had a love for her family and enjoyed talking with people.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Fred Nance, 2 husbands; 5 brothers; 1 sister and 1 grandchild, Roberta Nance.

She is survived by a daughter, Dee Garoutte and her husband, Larry of Springfield; 2 sisters, Erma Matthews of Michigan and Lorene Randolph of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Rachel Nance of Rolla; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 2-4 PM in Klingner-Cope Rivermonte Chapel, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Graveside services will be Monday, July 29, 2013 at 2 PM in Countryside Memorial Gardens, Owensville, MO.

Family requests donations be made to Missouri Baptist Children's Home, 11300 St. Charles Rock Road | Bridgeton, MO 63044
