Robert "Bob" Lee Ruggles, 85, died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Hawthorne Village in Ocala, Florida. Mr. Ruggles was born November 16, 1927 in Flint, Michigan. He was a retired Master Electrician and Large Commercial/Residential electrical contractor who moved to Ocala, Florida 35 years ago following retirement. While in business, he was always involved in community outreach, serving on the Grand Blanc, Michigan Library Board, and fraternal organizations including the Optimist Club as President 1968-1969. He was a proud 3rd Degree life member of the Knights of Columbus and past President of Blessed Trinity Men's Club, 1979-1980. This year he also received his "60 year" membership certificate and pin from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was a member of the St. Joseph of the Forest Catholic Church. He loved bass fishing and travelled extensively throughout the US and to Europe and North Africa. In April 1988 he married Dolores who survives him. Also surviving are his son, Dr. David Ruggles, and wife Dianne; his daughter, Doreen Beuthin and husband Ron; additionally, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a sister Mrs. Colleen Ross. There will be a private family memorial service at Highland Memorial Park.
