Joanne Czarniak

CZARNIAK, JOANNE MARIE Goodrich Died May 28, 2014. She was 81. Born June 7, 1932 in Detroit to the late William B. and Helen (nee: Alison) Calverley. She married Edward F. Czarniak on November seven, 1953 in Royal Oak. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years; eight children, Edward T. (Laura), Tony (Theresa), Tim and Phillip (Dianne) Czarniak, JoEllen (Mark) Grant, Margaret (Al) Majewski, Julie (Steven) Langlois and Donna Diment; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren with one on the way. Two brothers, Richard (Marion) and Robert (Kathy) Calverley; two sister-in-laws, Marlene and Judy Calverley. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Louann Czarniak. Joanne was a volunteer at Genesis Hospice, North End Soup Kitchen, St. Joseph's Guild and was very active in various church activities. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and was a prayer warrior. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church (7296 Gale Rd., Grand Blanc). Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Family will receive friends on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at COATS VILLAGE FUNERAL HOME, ORTONVILLE with a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be at the church on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.
