Nancy Kelly Obituary

"Once a Falcon, always a Falcon."
This mantra was not only coined and fulfilled by Cerritos College's first-ever softball and women's basketball coach Nancy Kelly, it continues on through the program's current staff and players.
Kelly, a Cerritos College Hall of Famer and softball field namesake, died Sunday at the age of 78 after a battle with cancer. Her presence and ability to mentor was felt throughout the program long after her coaching days, even up to last season, where she could be found in attendance regularly as a fan and team supporter.

Nancy was a most unusual human being. She had the ability to make an almost immediate personal connection. Her endless store of compassion, generosity and enthusiasm was amazing. It was an honor to know her and she will be missed.

My memories of Nancy are all on the golf course. Even though she was suffering with health problems, she was a tirelessly enthusiastic player and a delight to have as part of our foursome. What a kick she was with her wicked sense of humor. We miss you, Nancy
