Melanie J. Vines

Melanie J. Vines, a resident of Clinton, died on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020. She was 71 years old and a nurse for the late Dr. Michael DeJohn in Clinton. Visitation will be at Bluff Creek Baptist Church on Monday Dec. 14, 2020 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Cole Permenter. Burial will be in Bluff Creek Cemetery. Melanie is survived by her sons, Jamie Vines and wife, Ashley and Bradley Vines and wife, Laurie, a brother, Al Pace, and wife, Tammy, 8 grandchildren, Kailee, Ally, Sydney, Brayden, James, Trey, Rosie, and Dalynn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary J. Vines, Sr., parents, Walter and Emma Lee Pace, and a sister, Shari Pace. Pallbearers will be Brayden Vines, James Vines, Trey Burns, Paul Dreher, Jeb Bruneau, Adrian Bruneau, David Price, Robbie Harrison and Sean Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Pace, David Backstedt, Lonnie Morris and Todd Morris. "Doll" was a dedicated and proud Louisiana State Police and Baton Rouge Police officer's wife from day one. She spent 12 years as a Bus Driver for Silliman, as well as a substitute teacher. She worked in the cafeteria at Clinton High School with her Mom. She also helped her Mom with her catering business for years in East Feliciana and surrounding Parishes. She loved spending time with her dearly loved grandchildren. Most of her days were spent riding them around on her Polaris with her companion Copper right beside her and visiting with everyone. Melanie spent many hours talking with friends and family either in person or on the phone. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. We love you Maw Maw Melanie!
