I never met Marion Britton, but she was family. My mother's name is Dolores Dunlap her mother was Ursala Britton.Marion was my mother's cousin. I wish I would have meet her but we moved to south florida when I was one. I heard she had a gentle heart. RIP Marion you will never be forgotten.

Your place in eternal history, my friend.

I can't help but wonder if Marion was a distant relative of mine somehow. If so, there is an additional tie I feel that somehow keeps me interconnected & compelled to preserving the memory of those we lost on 911. A co-worker where I worked back then (Todd Beamer)is the other "hero" ... both individuals will not be forgotten.

Marion: I've waited far too long to write this but it's time now. I am so proud of you and Waleska. I think of you often and not just at this time of year. Our ARD conference calls were no longer fun without you. I retired to Florida last year and put out two flags on 9/11. The little kids on the block asked why. I told them that two of the heroes were my friends. If you were here, I'd take you for a ride in my hot rod.

Dearest Margaret,
I just read this in the associated press and it brought tears to my eyes.

Margaret Britton, whose sister-in-law Marion Britton died aboard Flight 93, said her family doesn't blame the airlines, and doesn't want taxpayer money.

"Some people think it's strange, but we just felt that in this case, it wasn't anyone's fault, it didn't warrant a lawsuit,"

I consider all those who lost their lives on that flight true heros and I will always hold a prayer for them and their families in my heart.

We never know when or where we may find ourselves faced with the opportunity to stand for a worthy cause because our integrity demands us to do what is right That in itself is what blesses us.

Our servicemen fight for our freedoms every day with nowhere near as much recognition or compensation. Many of us have lost loved ones unexpectedly and senselessly for much less worthy a cause.

I admire those who recognize this without trying to place blame and make others pay for what in actuality may have been a person’s very purpose or destiny.

This is the kind of attitude that makes America great and restores my faith! This is what makes YOU a true hero also! Thank you so much to the family of Marion Britton!!

Dearest Marion,

Two years ago this week, I saw you for the last time, and we had one of our routine "sarcastic exchanges" (you won). And two years ago today, we lost you forever. It still hurts a great deal.

This year hasnt been kind to me, and I wish you were here to encourage me to keep smiling, as I know you would. I know that Fred and Phyllis have joined you in heaven now and even though we mourned their losses, Im glad they are there to keep you company. May God Bless you.

Dear Paul, Margaret, Wren & Tieg.

I only recently learned that your sister and aunt was one of the victims on Flight 93. I'm sorry I never met Marion. My heart goes out to all of you for your loss. Paul, I read the article in the Pittsburgh paper, and I recognized your generous heart right away. I've never had the chance to tell you what a difference you made in my life -- every time I have the opportunity to help someone else in a time of need, I think of you and your kindness and sacrifice so many years ago. Love & hope to all of you, Sherry.

To the Britton Family,

I was a contractor for Census 2000 . I had the pleasure of working with Marion in a training Field Trial. I was the trainer in a practice class she, and some of her co-workers, attended.

I think it speaks to Marion's personality and character that I remember her well. I have trained 1,000s of people and I remember that class vividly. There was so much life and vitality in that room. Those spunky ladies really kept me on my toes.

Please accept my late condolances and know that Marion was memorable to a great number of people.

Dearest Marion,

After your funeral, I was overcome with guilt that I did not get up and speak during the service. But I was just too emotional. So I am greatful for this opportunity to say what I have been wanting to say since 9/11. No matter where I am or what Im doing, there isn't a day that goes by that I do not think about you. You took me under my wing and served as almost like a mother figure to me, which has been lacking throughout my life. Im getting married in May (you always wanted me to settle down), and I would give anything to have you here during this exciting time in my life. When Lois informed me of this tragedy, I said in my grief, "She was so nice to me." Thank you for being nice. I love you!

I know this is very late but did not know about this site. Marion and I worked in many workshops at the Census Bureau. She was one of the kindest people anyone could know. Her heart was huge and she would help you in any way she could. My daughter is a plus size and when I was planning her wedding Marion was kind enough to give me names of wedding dress establishments in NY that carried plus sizes. She was a dedicated worker and knew her business well. I will miss your smile and laughter.

I want to thank everyone who have written in this Guest Book. It touches me that people would take the time out of their lives to write their thoughts and prayers down. My aunt meant a lot to my family and I. It nice to know she meant a lot to others as well. It's also conforting to know people are thinking about her and her family without ever meeting us. Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers. My heart goes out to everyone who lost someone that day and to everyone who stands by us to comfort us all. God bless you all.

Marion: I have always fighted myself to say this....but it is on my mind constantly. How I wish I had checked your plane tickets to be sure you took a wide body aircraft to San Francisco. If I had seen which flight you decided to take...I would have fussed until you changed it!!!! I was so happy that you and Waleska would be able to go to such a wonderful city for your conference, and I was anxious to hear how you liked it upon your return. It was going to be a long flight and I wanted you both to enjoy every aspect of your trip!! Please know that you are missed....everyone has stepped up to the plate because they know that is the way you would have wanted it. Not having you here is tough on us though because of the little things you gave us....the compassion, knowing when it was someone's birthday, being there for someone when they were sick or in need. Your brand of generosity was truly umcommon but a very important ingredient to the wonderful family atmosphere you created in our office.

Please know that you are eternally in my thoughts!

We are deeply sorry for our nation's loss of Marion. I believe God cried when He saw the evil that took the lives of His innocent children before their time. In the shadows of the darkness they cried out His name. They found shelter and protection from human pain as He lovingly pulled them into His embrace. Cradled in His arms earthly cries became heavenly songs as angels were born. Our hearts cry deeply with you in America's loss of a hero.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
