Remembering Charles on the 20th anniversary of 9/11...
Kathleen Bassett
September 9, 2019
Just feeling sad, with the 9/11 anniversary coming up, and decided to see what I could find about Chuck Droz. I worked with Chuck while he was still in the Navy - for years. Chuck was the highlight of the office - totally funny and it was a joy to be with him - he made 'work' a 'fun' environment. And I miss him every year as 9/11 approaches.
My very best wishes to Cindy and Shannon.

To The Family,
Although it's been 11 years since the tragedy of 9/11, the pain of it is still here and hurts more than words can ever say. I did not know Mr. Charles Droz. However, I would like to offer my condolences to you at this time. God bless you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Terry of NC

I didn't know Chuck Droz personally, but he lived about a mile from my parents.
His court seemed like a very special group of neighbors, as they always put up spectacular lights and ornaments every Christmas. Every year (even after I moved out and visted my parents for the holidays), my parents and I had a tradition to go over and see the fantastic lights and decorations....it always moved us. There were always other people there to see these special displays. Every neighbor got involved. I could tell that they were a close group of people.
2001....a year that ended on a note with high emotion for all of us. We were stunned about the atrocities that went on Sept. 11, but we all began to pull ourselves together and carry on, all the while remembering all of the angels who died on Sept. 11.
At Christmas, my parents and I set out to this court one night, to see the terrific display, as we usually did. As we pulled into the court, a sign that was posted caught our eyes. It read something like:
"These lights are dedicated to our neighbor and friend, Chuck Droz, who lost his life on American flight 77, on Sept. 11, 2001."
We could not help but tear up as we read it, then slowly marveled at the gorgeous displays.
Chuck - although I did not know you personally, I can tell that you were a wonderful man who touched many lives. I know your family and friends miss you very much, and that you are an angel up in Heaven, looking our for them.
God Bless You!

Hi, I am in 10th grade at Lakeview Fort-Oglethorpe High School and on this September 11th, we held a commemeration of all the victims of that day. Each cheerleader, football player and service club member was handed a card and on 9-11 at the times that the planes hit, a teacher would read over the intercom, the time, the fight that went down, and how many victims, at that time, if we had a card with a person on that flight, we would read their name, age, location, and profession. I just wanted you to know that i had Charles' name, and i am so sorry about your loss, i'm sure he was a wonderful man. God Bless you, Melissa

On September 11, 2002, the school Divine Savior Holy Angels had an all school prayer service to remember all who had died. They handed out cards with the names of people who had died on September 11. I received Charles Droz's name, and I would just like to express my condolences to his family and friends. I will pray for him daily and always keep you in my heart.

Yesterday a memorial march was held in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, in honor of all of the victims of 9-11-01. I was there to carry my uncle's name (Charles Mauro), but they had extra names and my husband carried Charles Droz's. I still have the poster that was handmade by local schoolchildren and would like to forward it to his family. If anyone knows how to get in touch with them, will you please let me know?

As the anniversary of 9-11 approaches, not a day goes by without me thinking about my good friend and fraternity brother. He was one the most decent and moral men that I ever met at Grove City College. He kept us in line serving as our President of Kappa Alpha Phi. May God Bless and give his family continued strength.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
