I knew Edna L. Stephens while I was stationedat the Pentagon. I am retired from the Army and living in Macon, Ga now. Edna and I became friends and kept in contact with each other after I left the Pentagon. We all knew she stood at 5'8 or 5'9 (LOL) and that was how she carried herself. She loved her job at the Pentagon as a budget analyst with the Army. Her untiring efforts, devotion, and loyalty to her mission earned her great respect. She was smart, had a great personality, funny, loved her family and trusted in the Lord. 9/11 took her from us. Rest in Heaven my friend. We still miss you. In the words of the song sungbyWhitney Houston: "I will always love you". I know her family would agree with me. I would love to hear from her family:[email protected]

To Edna's Family,
This ie Peggy Jackson, from Maryland. May God give all of you continued strength during this difficult time. God had a "Special Plan" for Enda and she is OK. Althought we did not get to "Retire" as we had planned God Blessed me to retire with 42 years of service as of March 31,2012. I hope to relocate to Metro Atlanta Georgia, Spring 2013.
God Bless and Take Care.

Edna,
This is your friend and Sister in Christ Peggy A. Jackson, of 6872 Riverdale Rd.#134, Lanham MD. I still miss you and I remember our last trip home to Gainesville, GA. to your Father's Family Reunion. I am so glad that we had a chance to say "Good-bye" when got back from our trip that Sunday. After I said that to you I asked myself why did you say "good-bye". Then I asked God if it is his will I hope to see you againg. You invited me to your office that Thursday, but I did not make it becaue of 9-11 came first. May we see each other on that great day that God has planned. I remember us planning our "Retirement" on that Saturday as we were on our way to Georgia. Well I retired Mar. 31, 2012 with 42 years in the Pentagon, and I will be returning to Metro Atlanta Ga., FY-2013. We grew-up together and I never amagined our live would end the way that it has. God also had plans for you my dear. I gave an interview with a reporter, of the Gainesville Times on August 13, 2012,about our life and time at the Pentagon.
Love Always Until we Meet Again.

Tomorrow will mark the 9th anniversary of
The attack on America. My aunt was taken to
Heaven on that tragic day of events . So many perplexing questions tthat can only be answere by God, so as we remember the fallen don't question the Lord about why or how, just thank him for the time he allowed you to share with your love ones that have pasted from this life to the next . Then thank hime for allowing you to still be here on this earth for we shall not all Sleep but those of us which remain shall be caught up in twinkling of an to meet Juses in the air. Just as my Aunt Edna L. Stephens did on on that tragic day along with so many others.

Love Your Enemies
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” (Matthew 5:43-45). The Pharisees taught the people to hate the enemies of Israel. The implication was that this hatred was God’s means of judging their enemies. Jesus taught the people just the opposite. “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

I knew Edna while I was station at the Pentagon. I am retired now and living in Macon, Ga. Edna was one of a kind. She gave me a hard time in a good way when it came to getting money for my unit. We became friends after 6 months of me trying to get money from her to support my unit mission. She was "good people". When every I came to her office she would say "Oh lord" what do you need now. LOL Rest in peace my dear. We will miss you.

Other family members (some deceased) are Bonnie Jean, Marie, Mildred, Jennie V, Cliton and Ludon. To TARRIS, her son, and the Stephens family

I never meet Ms. Edna, but I've heard many great things about a kind person. My mother went to school with her and speaks so gracefull of memories they shared. Hearing those moments remind me of our friendship that developed while attending church and singing in the choir these past years when you played piano. It broke my heart when I heard that your mother was part of the 9/11 attacks; total shock. I know it has been hard, and missing her rises everyday; just remember her love you will never die. And know that she has no more worries, no more fear nor pain, because she's now safe in his arms.

-MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS U AND UR FAMILY,MY FRIEND-

Prayers Always,

I am eight-years-old, and I am the great-niece of Edna L. Stephens. I felt so bad when Aunt Edna and so many others were killed at the Pentagon and the World Trade Center Buildings in New York City. Others died in Pennsylvania also in the jet crashes. I feel bad for them too. I will never forget September 11, 2001. I pray that I will see my Aunt in heaven someday with Jesus Christ our Lord.

I recieved Mrs. Stephens name and I wanted to infor the family and friends of what we are doing. She will be in my prayers all this week especially, as well as the family. I had worked with Edna for three years on a project, she will be greatly missed. From the moment I walked into OA-22 she made me laugh. I always loved hearing her stories. I can't believe one terrible event can took away so many great people from this office. These people were not only my clients, but my friends. God Bless them.

To the family of Edna:

I'll miss her just as much. Edna was a bowling team member several years ago. She shared my moms birthday, and we had the type of relationship my mom and I have. I'm reminded every day of her on my way to work, because you can see her building where she lived right from the bridge and I would always look over to see if her car was there or if it wasn't, she had already left for work. I'll continue to pray her spirit finds rest and peace in her new home. May these words find comfort to those blessed enough to be able to read this, I'll miss her and cherish the time we had together. She was a beautiful woman who loved and talked about her family all the time.

Shorten version: If I knew...

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,

young or old alike,

And today may be the last chance

you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,

why not do it today?

For if tomorrow never comes,

you'll surely regret the day,

Take time to say "I'm sorry," "Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."

And if tomorrow never comes,

you'll have no regrets about today.

God Bless each of you, Fred

How often I remember the days growing up from my house to yours. Your grandmother was the ruler of the hill, and I was there every day for my daily discipline (spankings??). From school to church, we were inseparable. And then we finally graduated, and you headed off to Washington to start your career. What an exciting time, but every year at Christmas, when you returned, it was as if you never left. Thanks for the memories. Love ya!!!

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

"You could always tell during christmas when Edna was home. You could smell the kitchen with cakes
and ham. Whatever you wanted, she cooked it."

"I know that she's with our savior right now."

"She said 'Gloria, don't you have a sister that work in the Pentagon?'... seemed like my heart just went to the floor."

"Six thousand families going through the same thing we are. I just hope they have God with them because you can't make it without him."

"...And I'm talking to Edna, and she's not there. I'm just saying 'Edna, I'm sorry. We are sorry.' We don't know what happened, you know? It's real hard."

Your sister - Gloria.
