To Vivian and Paul,
And Christine…my family lived across Deer Park Avenue in Babylon. My older sister babysat Pauly. We moved away when Pauly was about 13 but still have footage of all of you in family picnic videos. We just talked about him on Thanksgiving as my older brother had a photo of his name from the memorial site…very sad. We are all very sad for your loss. We think of the old days and good times there were…

Paul, Vivian, In honor of my fathers 100 birthday I finally went to our families hometown of Bedonia Italy.
Before I left I made a shadow box that included a steel cross cut from the steel from WTC Tower 1.
There was a formal ceremony in the Bedonia city hall to accept the box for their immigration museum. I posted the proclamation that was read to us- in English- on my brother John's legacy website.
When I addressed the Bedonia city council I made sure I told them of another son of Bedonia that lost his life on 9/11.
I always felt a special saddness when your grandmother Rosetta and my father John sat homebound together after 9/11.
I told them about Paul and that the Sozzi and D'Allara families have always been close since their immigration to America.
I will always have fond memories of our parents and grandparents under the grape arbor ddrinking wine and listeningto accordian music during the 1960's.
I saw first hand our last names together on Italian war memorials and our ancestors side by side in the town cemetery.
I also learned that our last names go back to the 14th and 15th century in the Taro Valley in the Appeninie Mountians.
Around every corner their was a connection to the town and the Taro Valley.
I was in awe of our families history. I had a big laugh when I was told that I am a decendant of Guiseppe Dallara, king of the monkey circus from the early 19th century. You just can't make this stuff up,
Those Italians sure are tricky !!

Cari Paolo e Vivien,

Paul,
was fun loving, friendly and funny. He use to talk to me about Long Island and the great beaches. Paul was a SUNY graduate so being a recent graduate at the time would have fun stories to tell me about his years in college and years living in the city with famous actors who lived next door. He was cool and seemed to love life on the water. I worked on the 90th floor with Paul and use to talk to me on the morning elevator ride. You are remembered especially Long Island always and on Cedar Beach town of Bablyon. He talked about his boating life off the waters of Bablyon.
I love Long Island I think of you often as one of friends and coworkers from Long Island lost. Annie

I've just signed the papers for an artifact (107th Floor Sign) that my brother Michael and I are donating to the National September 11 Museum and Memorial that will open in 2012 at Ground Zero. The inscription will read:
"Donated by David and Michael Castello, former employees of the Windows On The World Restaurant, in memory of their cousin Paul Rizza who perished in the World Trade Center South Tower."

Pauly, what a difference you made in peoples lives. Gary and Lori Beckmann had a baby boy and named him Lucas Paul Beckmann. That was Gary's way of honoring and remembering all you meant to him. I was so touch by that, I had to place it here in this guess book so people would see just how much you ment to so many of us. We are all missing you and we are all feeling so lucky just to have known you. I think about you often and now we have a little "Burnito" to remember you by. Love ya, Jude and Bob

I never knew Paul or his wife even though we are neighbors. I moved into the neighborhood 9 months prior to 9/11. That day was so tragic, and when I heard my neighbor was lost, my heart broke for your family.
I think of your wife often when I pass by, and wonder how she's doing. I think the last time I saw her was during the winter shoveling snow. I live in the brown house on the corner, and I just want you to know that you are always in my family's thoughts and prayers.

My prayers have been with you ever since that dreadful day. My uncle is Paul Rizza, your cousin. When we heard Paul was one of the victims in the WTC, the sorrow was worse, because now we had a connection to someone we knew. May God help you be strong and always keep Paul's memories alive. I also pray for Bob Mattson, who worked with Paul and also lost his life on that terrible day. They are both angels, watching over us.
God bless,

I picked Paul Rizzo's name at random at a prayer service last night. It was disappointing not to find his history. However, when I read the messages from his family and friends, it made me so aware of who we are to others is who we are to our Creator. The love expressed helped me to know the love that Paul has given and so the love he has received in Eternity. Blessings to all of you and to all of us. May
Peace dwell in our entire world one day.

Words cannot express the sorrow that we all feel for the Rizza and Sozzi families. Paul had a smile for all of us as his friends have said. Never forget that Paul gave his life to help some one. He did not wear a uniform but he is also an American Hero. He is missed so much by all that knew him.

Paul, although I didn't have the opportunity to see you often, you always made an impact and provoked a healthy laugh. It's unbelievable to me that this could happen. Elaine, you will always know how much he loved you, it was endless. You will be greatly missed and we will always cherish the memories of our time spent with you.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

You always showed kindness with those you had contact with. Even after you left Chase you made it a point to stay in contact with me...You lived life to its fullest and gave me the best example of what living was all about...May your family find comfort in knowing all the people whose lives you touched. Your spirit will always live with us, forever young... You will be greatly missed. REST IN PEACE RIZ...

Words can not express the deep sorrow I feel for your loss. We have heard stories about heroes on the planes and on the ground. We will never know what went on exactly within the WTC. I remember Paul to be a strong caring soul (with a great sense of humor).Paul, the people on the planes, in the WTC and Pentagon, and on the ground will all always be heroes to me. My prayers are with you. Kirsten
