Love the tribute above. I was in Jeffrey's high school class. I lived just around the block and when walking to Merriman School - I believe I walked by his house daily. I've been a Montanan since 1970, but Long Island, New York will be a part of me forever.

I had the privilege of living across the street from Jeff and his awesome family for 20+ years but our lives were way more connected beyond just geographic proximity. Our fathers were the best of friends and he, his wife and his children are very much central to much of my and my siblings' childhood. Jeff's zest for life, love for his family and passions for golf, DMB and people was unrivaled. He is missed often but most especially on this day. The beauty amid the tragedy is that his his unbridled enthusiasm for life, be it family, people, golf, live music or traveling, lives on in his tender and loving wife Chris and his five children and 10 (I think?) grandchildren. Anyone who knew him loved him and anyone who spent time with him knows their lives were better because of him. May God continue to bless Chris, Jeff Jr, Betsy, Andy, Katie and Meg and their respective families. What a treasure it was to know him.

My high school classmate 1964 and number one player on paul d. schreiber high school. Friendly to all and an american patriot. God Bless you Jeffrey and your loving wife and children and grand children. Where did the time go from high school 64 to Vietnam and thankful I came home and you loved our country. semper fi

I only know Jeff from his son Jeff who is married to my daughter Martha and thru his son I know that he must have been a wonderful family man because his son is a wonderful father, husband and son in law.

I worked at Jefferies in LA when Jeff was in the NY office. After completing the 1989 Hawaiian Ironman, I was visiting clients in NY and Jeff orchestrated a celebratory dinner for me with some Jefferies employees. He was a joy to know an I think of him often. RIP my friend.-

I met Jeff when he was only 9 years old. Even at that young age, Jeff was buying and selling stocks. His father was a great teacher. Jeff's older sister, Judy was one of my best friends, and I enjoyed visits with the family. Chris, you had a great husband, and I know you and your wonderful family miss him greatly. May God bless you and yours and all those affected by 9/11/01

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

My father recently gave me a tree that had a message of dedication to your husband, Jeff. I am not sure where the tree came from, but the message asked to plant the tree on behalf of Jeff, which I have done.
It is a white spruce, about 18" but will grow tall and proud, up to 40'.
I have read about Jeff and will always think of him when the tree is blowing in the wind. I have printed info on him and show it to all that inquire about the "new tree." So there's a little part of his legacy living up here in Norhtern NJ...
My tears shed for you...

I have thought about Jeff so many times during the last year, and today, on the anniversary of the tragic loss of so many, I have pictured him laughing and making the world a much better and more jovial place.
We were classmates and dorm-mates and fraternity brothers at Dartmouth College in the 1960's. Jeffie helped make my years there much fuller of deep belly laughs. We discarded the cares of the world.
Again, my deepest condolences to Chris and Jeff's family. We who loved knowing him share a small piece of the terrible loss they must feel.
I miss you Jeff!!

I often wonder what direction my life would have taken had I not met you; had you not been willing to share your mind, your professionalism, your personality, your wisdom. Thank you Jeff. I am honored to have known you and to have spent the years working with you at Jefferies and Company. I bet you, Boyd and Melton have played some golf together with God to round out the foursome. Peace my friend.

I am a student at St.Pius X High School and for this week to remember those who died we are wearing the name of a victim of September 11. I have Mr. Leveen. From what I have read he sounded like a great person that I would have loved to meet. All I can offer is my deepest sympathy and to tell his family that I will keep them in my heart and in my prayers during this hard time.

I knew the LeVeens for several years at Plandome C.C.. Jeff and Christine were wild about their children; and justifiably so. They always had a contagious energy level that could brighten any day. It has been 12 years since I last saw you - but you have been, and will be, in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for giving the pleasure of having known you and your family.

It has taken me some time to find this page, but it did not take me long in reading this tribute to recognize a kinship. Jeff's love of life rings clearly in your words, and I have always aspired to that. As his distant cousin, I will do so even more in honor of his memory.
My condolences to all who held him dear.

We are very sorry for your loss of Jeffrey. May his life and love live on in those who love him. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

I, too, graduated from Schreiber H.S. with Jeffrey. He made math bearable and because of our names, we often landed in the same homeroom. A delight. I had hoped to catch him at reunion. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Please know the deepest sympathy that our family feels for all of you. Our daughter, Molly, lived across the hall from Andy, during her sophomore/his freshman year at OWU, and called to tell us about your husband/father. You have been in our daily prayers, and will continue to be. With love, Scott, Carol, Molly and Emily Dunlop

I graduated from Schreiber High School the year after Jeff did. I recognized his name as soon as I saw it here, and seeing his smiling face in the pages of my yearbook brought back a memory of the well-liked, cheerful person I remember Jeff to be. To his family and friends, I am so very sorry for the loss of this man who was so dear to you.
