I heard Jim's name read aloud on TV this morning during a September 11 ceremony. It was a name I haven't heard in almost 40 years. I attended the same middle school and high school as Jim. Since I was a grade behind him, I didn't know him very well. I only have a few memories of playing football with him on Lincoln Street with the other kids who lived there back in the late 70's and early 80's. Nevertheless, I was still shocked to hear that he was one of those we lost on September 11. I am sorry for your loss, and will say a prayer for him on this 20th anniversary.

Jimmy,

Not a day goes by that I do not think about you. You were a true friend through thick and thin, a wonderful son, father, and uncle. You were taken from us all too soon. On this day, the fifth anniversary of the attacks, you are so sorely missed, it hurts. I honored you with a tattoo on my arm never forgetting one of my oldest and best friends. God bless.

Jim was one of the kindest people I'd ever known. I had the honor of working with him on a charity project in 1996 and will never forget his dedication to helping others. Always happy and smiling and telling me how much he loved his wife and baby girl. I was lucky to have known him.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

James was always a very-well liked person throughout grade school, and was kind and generous to everyone he knew.

He wrote in his high school yearbook:

"Take your time...don't live too fast.

Troubles come and they'll pass.

Find a woman and you'll find love

And don't forget there's someone up above."
