I gave blood yesterday in Kingsport, Tennessee, and I was given a card with Joh W. Wright, Jr.'s name on it, saying that I was donating in his memory. Reading his tribute here makes me proud to have done that. God bless his memory and his family.

John worked with my husband in Florida. The memories I have of him are reflected in this article. We eventually, met Martha and attended their beautiful wedding. They both were clearly surrounded by wonderful friends and family. Martha, I think of you often. I never met your children, but I hope you all are doing well.

A Mom of Three

I never knew John but I have been reading alot of the bio's of lives lost and I read John's story. He was the protector of his sisters and Mom, I am sure they miss him so much. May God bless his wife, children family and friends. None of the victims of 9/11 died in vain, they are always in the hearts and prayers of the American people. Be at peace John with the Lord.

I met both Martha and John at UVM. John-O, as we called him, was such a fun loving, kind hearted person. He was one of our ski buddies and always had us laughing with his quick wit and great smile. My heart is heavy this day as I think of Martha, their children and the rest of the Wright family. As well as the other families who lost loved ones in this horrible tragedy.

John and I became friends during our freshman year at UVM. He was a good man. I will never forget nor stop being angry at the cowards that involved innocent civilians in their insanity.

Thinking of you and your family....

When reading I kept thinking about John's wife, the joy of a new baby and a future of sharing the baby's growth together. It must have been more devastating than imaginable, and always will be. I hope she finds some comfort in the thought that he looks after them now from a different perspective, and that someday they will all be together in a place where no one can ever separate them again. I send her and their children my love in John's memory.

Although two years have passed, the memory of 9/11 has not, and never will. To Wayne and Virginia (who I still remember from long ago), and the entire Wright family, I send my deepest sympathy and condolences to you. I pray that good friends and family, and a loving God bring you comfort and healing in your loss.

John was my brother's college roommate at UVM. He was a very fun guy. I'd like to write to his wife. I think about you often and wonder how you're doing. I can only imagine how hard it's been on you. I'm sure you've become very strong and I know that John would be proud of you. John is watching over you and loving you. I'm praying for you and I want you to remember that God will always be with you. I'm thinking about you. God Bless you.

I first met John at Riverside School ,RVC in 4th grade. I remember John as a pretty quiet, sweet kid.
Your husband, your child, your Father, your brother, I have not stopped thinking about since 9/11.
My brother too passed away very suddenly (John knew him) his name was John also. My brother died in 1988. My lost was a knife in the heart, like I'm sure yours was.
Please know I'm truely sorry, the world will miss our John's deeply.
All my love and sorrow,
Kelly Dibenedetto

To John's wife and family,
I only knew John for about 48 hours, having met him during a kayaking instruction course last June 2001. Our class was small (maybe 14 people total?) and I was there with my friend Kim. During the first hour of instruction, we could tell that John was fun, funny, and outgoing. As soon as class was done for the day, the 3 of us prepared to meet for a beer in town. John told us at length of his family and the baby on the way - his pride and love shone through his every word.
My thoughts have frequently been of the Wright family of Rockville since September 11th.
God bless you all,
Julie Donat, Havertown, PA

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

John always had a warm smile and a friendly word for everyone he'd encounter. "Sunny" is somewhat a cliche, but apt for this young man. Unbelievably, he is the second in our Chaminade home room class ('85) to fall victim to terrorists. I hope that God now holds he and Mark Tobin (who died in the Lockerbie bombing) safe in His hands, and that He watches over and comforts their families in their time of grieving.
