Sending our heartfelt sympathy for your loss. With each new day may God give the help needed to cope. Words will never remove the pain of losing someone loved but they do show that others still do care about your family. Stephanie will always be sadly missed. May the time finally come when acts of violence like these will end.

There aren't enough words to describe what a beautiful person Stephanie was. She lit up a room everytime she entered. If you were sad she knew just the right words to say. She will be greatly missed.
My mother (Helen) & I send our deepest sympathy to her family.
May she forever rest in peace. God bless.

Steffie was one of my closest friends. She invited me into her home when I wasn't sure where I was going to live. She was the angel on my shoulder always encouraging me in the Lord. I will always miss her and Carlito-the nickname we shared for her dog Charlie. She was an awesome friend. I look forward to see her when I am caught up with Jesus.
With all my love

Stephanie was my best friend. She was more like a sister than a friend. Her heart was as big as her smile. I will never forget all the times we prayed, laughed and cried together. I won't ever forget our song " Steffie and Patti - they be Jammin'" I am still kicking myself wishing we would have taken that day off as we planned. I am looking forward to seeing you at the pearley gates. I thank God for the friendship we were allowed to have and all the memories that still get me through some good and bad days.

I also knew Stephanie aka "Irby" my children and I fondly remember her and her dog Charlie. We lived several houses away from each other and attended the same church. We will miss her and pray God's peace in her family's lives.

Until today it was just a speculation that we lost a family member to the WTC attacks, but its been confirmed we lost a cousin and her name is Stephanie V. Irby.
Although she was a distant cousin, family is family and the Pettways run deep. My Grandfather was Willie Pettway of Alabama and my Mother is Ida Walters.
You know CUZ we are the same age and its a shame of how close but yet so far we were, you in Queens and me in Brooklyn. God how I wish I knew you .

In the midst of my own "normal" and often mundane activities, on occaision certain things intervene that powerfully reframe the ways I think about life. Clearly, September 11th was one such intervention. So, how does one respond to your loss? What I can say initially and most confidently is this: Your wonderful memories will continue to comfort you. Thank you for sharing her life with us.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
