James V. Irby, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2026, in Lakeside, Arizona. He was born on August 11, 1961, and resided in Gilbert, Arizona, where he built a life centered on family, friends, faith, and service to others.
James was a man of strong, devoted family values and Christian faith, which guided his life and shaped his character. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and light-hearted, loving soul. His warm smile, gentle spirit, and genuine compassion made everyone around him feel valued, cherished and cared for. He lived his faith daily through acts of love and sacrifice for his family, kindness, empathy, leadership, service, and encouragement.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joya; his children, Justin, Corey, and Lauren; his father, Everett Russell; and his sister, Cari. He also leaves behind many dear extended family members, friends, coworkers, partners, and clients who were blessed by knowing him and working alongside him.
James was devoted to his family and treasured every moment spent with them. He will be remembered for his love for his family, unwavering faith, his joyful heart, and the countless lives he touched. Though deeply missed, his legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to live on in all who knew him. The world is forever a little less bright without him.
