Each of the members of our ONE VOICE chorus had the name of someone from that tragic day in a locket tied with a blue ribbon. We sang patriotic songs at a 9/11 memorial.
I had Jackie's name in my locket. Her name will forever remain in mine and I will wear the necklace every year in her honor.

Hi I am a Canadian woman who has just been watching the events of 911. it saddens me so much even all these years later that So many innocent lives were taken. My name is Laine so Ms. Aldridge's middle name caught my eye. I have recently had a great loss in my life so I understand that loss you have suffered. Her picture leads me to believe she was a very up, positive wonderful person.

I just realized an error I made yesterday while leaving my msg. Because I was upset and, I guess not thinking clearly, I stated that I had seen Jackie's sister at the ceremony, when, in fact, it was the sister of Betty Fox, another of my co-workers. Sorry for any confusion.

I am a student at the University of Wisconsin Fox Valley. I never knew Jacquelyn Aldridge nor did she know me. Some wonderful people on our campus made up ribbons with the names of victims of 9-11. All of the ribbons had names on them. I picked the ribbon with Jacquelyn's name and age on it. Other than those two things, I knew nothing of her. However, I wore that ribbon with her name on it on my shirt all day. I was glad to tell anyone who asked me what this ribbon meant. I spent my entire day looking down at that ribbon and wondering about who Jacquelyn was...was she married? did she have children? what were her hobbies? what were her passions???? But, more so than wondering I prayed for her and her family and friends and everyone who knew her. I looked up Jacquelyn on the internet tonight and I found wonderful words written about her...more importantly I saw a face and beyond that a soul...someone I wish I could have known and held as a friend. To all of Jacquelyn's family and friends...my deepest condolences and a few shared tears from a seeming stranger in Wisconsin who came to know of your loved one by fate and a ribbon. God Bless You!!

As I watched the memorial on NBC this morning, I saw my name through my tears. I couldn't believe it! No one has my name, I've met one other who spelled it with a "y" and heard of two others. I sat watching the names go by again on CNN to make sure I wasn't imagining it, this time caught the whole name. Then I went to church with Jacquelyn Delaine Aldridge written on a piece of paper. We had a prayer vigil and I had felt that it would be better if I could focus on at least one person, rather than over 3,000. With my bible, my hymnal, a candle and Jaquelyn Delaine Aldridge, her age, and accountant on the paper, I prayed for her. I imagined her as white, black, asian, native american, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, trying to get a feeling for her. Some how I thought she might be black. I don't know why. Back at home I thought I'd try NYTimes to see if I could find her and when the entry said sister connection, I knew I had to find out more. I am one of 4 girls, my parents believed in education for all of us, they died in the 90's, I am white and protestant (Norwegian Lutheran). I would like to know more about Jacquelyn. If her family visits this sight, please know I am with you in spirit.

Today I remember the tragic loss of innocent lives from one year ago by wearing a badge given to me at a memorial, which bears the name of Jacquelyn Delaine Aldridge. To come to my computer and put a face to this name, this beautiful person with such a radiant smile, causes tears to spill down my face. I mourn her loss with you and pray for God to help you through this day, and all days to follow.

What a wonderfully bright and beautiful smile Jacquelyn has in the picture you have shared with the world. We are deeply sorry for your great loss of Jacquelyn. May her life and love live on in you. May precious memories of times together lighten the sorrow in your hearts. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Jackie and I worked for the same company and in the same dept for many years. She would tease me because more often than not, when I went to lunch, I returned with a purchase from one store or another. Now that I think about it, I don't remember Jackie ever getting angry or raising her voice. I know her loved ones are dealing with a lot of pain and they are in my thoughts.

A student where I work here at Belmont Abbey College asked folks to send an email message to 5 victims of Sept 11 and I received Jacquelyn's name. Please know that all of America is grieving with you. I would like to share a poem that helped me cope with the unexpected death of my father last Christmas Eve.CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven’s stars reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can’t compare with the Christmas Choir up here.
I have no words to tell you the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart.
But, I am not so far away, we really aren’t apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear.
And be glad I’m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do.
For I can’t count the blessings or love he has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

What a woman your sister was! Who is going to take over as the "connector"...the great communicator? It's the relationship bonds that are what life is about. Stay together..as sisters..and don't lose sight of the beauty that still exists in this often crazy world. Look closely for these things...sunsets, laughter, the constancy of the seasons, tides, sun and moon..Keep peace in your heart...not hatred and anger. In the end, love will prevail..I pray for your ability to endure this agony and for you to be able to have fun again...much love to you....our country is with you in your darkest hours...feel the love and power

One of Jackie's accounts was my brother-in-law's company. Jackie got to know both him and his wife via their phone calls. She was warm, professional, and funny. If Jackie was taking care of the problem, it was going to get solved. My family spoke of her often and how special she was. Jackie teased that she was taking my brother-in-law to the next family reunion!
Her family should know that on September 12, in an office on the other side of the country, I placed a picture of the WTC and her name in my office. Over the next few days small flower displays began to appear for Jackie, a woman we had never met. It is a small world and one person can make such a difference.
My sincere condolences for the loss of your wonderful sister.
