I grew up in the same neighborhood as "Whitey" (we always called him that) and it was an ethnically mixed neighborhood and there was no sense of discrimination against anyone. We loved sports and did not engage too much in politics but we were all fairly open to giving everyone an opportunity to either play in sports or anything they wanted to do in life. He most certainly did not deserve to die that way as did all the others who did. As a fellow Marine I can only repeat the words in the Marine Corp hymn and that is the streets of heaven must be guarded my United States Marines. I am sure that is what he is doing.

Bill was a valued member of my team when we worked together in 1984-85 and we also had a drink together now and then. It took me many years to learn that he had been a victim of the attack, and I still shed a tear when I recall his loss, which is quite often.

To even think of how many lives were loss or affected by this sad day in U.S History is devastating. The horror and grief that this event brought forth was mortifying. Choosing just four people to remember is hard because every casualty that day has their own story that is individually as important as every other person. However, one of the lives i have chosen to remember is William F Abrahamson. Mr. Abrahamson worked for Cantor Fitzgerald, which is a buisness management company. He was good man with a wife and son I can imagine were his whole world. His son Erik was his pride and joy, there is nothing more in the world that he would have wanted than seeing his boy grow up. He was known to keep his group of friends together or lead them even though over the years they separated. I can't answer the question of how Mr. Abrahamson contributed to themselves or others on the day of this tragedy. However reading and going back to learn about this man i can guarantee you that he made an effort to better someone around him before thinking of himself. His wife Ann seemed to be so proud to be married to William. The fact that they were torn apart by such a tragedy makes me deeply saddened. He also loved his son as much as any father would. He was proud to be his dad, and enjoyed every second with his son. I admire the life of Mr. Abrahamson beyond belief. He had a wife who loved him very much and a son who he loved dearly. The effort he put forth in getting to the position where he was in work is very admirable and i'd hope to be similar in my career. William F Abrahamson was a man with a beautiful family and life, I will never forget him as long as I live.

My name is Jesse D Arthur. I hail from Mechanicsville VA.
Im a 43 year old father. I also love to ride my motorcycle. Yesterday I rode to D.C. to join the army of patroit bikers in my first ever bike rally. I was bestowed the honor of wearing William F. Abrahamsons name on my helmet to honor one victim of this great trajedy.
I felt compelled to find out who this man was and so here I am finding myself glad to see that he was a man revered by those who knew him. My facebook page bears some photos of this rally including one of his name on my helmet. I plan to also post what i have learned about the person whos name now adorns my helmet. I will leave it on there. My condolenses to his people.. Jesse D Arthur

I met Bill just before the cowardly attacks. He was shopping for a vehicle and I was in automotive sales. He immediately came off as a polite and genuinely honest great family man. He was a Marine and I was a corpman(Navy/Marine Corp medic) so we hit it off right away. We had a mutual respect for each other. Partly because Marines always protect their corpman and a corpman saves Marines lives. Mostly because of his character. When I met his wife and son I could tell they were a close knit family. I learned of his passing when his wife walked into my job and told me. I pray and wish you and your family peace and safe harbors my friend.

September 9, 2011
Hi,
My name is Kayleen Young and I attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I know that you do not know me but today my school held a remembrance event in honor of all those who fell victim to the September 11th attacks. Each student was given a card with a name on it to represent someone whose life was lost that day. I received William F. Abrahamson. I found on http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/memorial/lists/by-name/index.html that he worked at Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. which is also where a friend of my family, Kevin Murphy worked who also was lost in the attacks. But I just wanted to leave this message letting you know that William was in my thoughts today and his family and friends were in my prayers. May God bless you and may you always remember the wonderful memories.
Sincerely,
Kayleen
