Thomas Swift Obituary
When Thomas F. Swift was around, no one wanted to play Trivial Pursuit or any game that relied on factoids and cultural flotsam. That was because Mr. Swift, whose brothers called him "the book of useless information," knew a bit about all kinds of things, maybe because of those childhood years reading encyclopedias at night for fun.
Mr. Swift, who was 30, worked as an assistant vice president at Morgan Stanley in the World Trade Center. He worked long days, said his wife, Jill, but he managed to be well-rounded. He used to unwind by spending hours listening to music, any kind of music.
The Swifts had been married five years. They celebrated Mrs. Swift's 30th birthday in June by going to the Bahamas with a group of friends. "He was a die-hard Yankees fan," Mrs. Swift said of the man she met when they were both high school students. "He yelled at a lot of TV's because of it. I had to become a Yankees fan before we married. My family was National League, they like the Mets, but it was a deal I had to make."

When news of the attacks on NYC & Washington DC made its way to the Hawaiian Islands, the whole world stopped & could only watch in disbelief as the events of the day unfolded.
Many stories of human interest unfolded as loved ones sought to find some peace of mind or simple answers on the status of loved ones.
Through the too many family members out in search of answers...The Mother of Tom Swift struck a personal chord as she made her way with a picture & just looking, praying and hoping for a miracle.
Other family members (brothers)spoke with pride how their younger brother had "made it" & was the success of the family.
On this, the 15th anniversary of the day the world changed....plz know your husband, son & brother is gone in the physical realm only.

His height, 5'10+ at 14 years old and the need to read about everything is what reminds me most about you. Tom, you'd be in your glory seeing how intelligent, mature and handsome a young man we've raised. He was offered a 4,500.00 scholarship to Hudson Catholic, and has chosen McNair HS to attend. Hi TOM: I was just thinking about you, Brian, and me going golfing. You had that great slice but you made it to the green. U and Brian had some good games together and sometime very good scores, ha ha. Jane is doing well in the nursing home she just puts up with it. Jill and Brian are the best help any parent can have with helping Jane and I. I have some cancer of the liver and the esophageal. The esophageal they took out in Sept. which made it a very difficulttime for all of us. Dealing with the other one everyday. losing weight. and throught all this are the two best ones taking care of the two of us. And I know in your heart u are watching all of us. I recently have touched base with many old friends from the past through the internet and decided to try a see if I could find my freshman roomate from LaSalle University - Tom Swift and came across what had happened. This was one of the worst things I have seen and i am so sad to hear my friend who was the person that introduced me to NY city and him and his family welcomed me into their home when we would come visit was taken on that horrible day of 9/11. You were a great man Tom and after all these years that passed since LaSalle I never forgot you and I never will.
