The God above hates violence. All those that participate in it he will do away with. Then all those that have fallen victim to it will raise up to a paradise earth to live in peace under Gods Kingdom. Looking forward to seeing them all there.

I knew Gino many years ago having met him at the University of Buffalo in 1984. A truly warmhearted person who was as genuine as he seemed. You are missed.

I know him as GiGi was what his sister called him not being able to pronounce Luigi,we go back a long time.Shared great ski trips. One thing about Gino he loved fast vehicles and skied like that too, it was alway's full throttle heading down the mountain. He would let me ride his Honda motorcyle and I would not return for hours and never got mad. One of the greatest hearts and finest, sincere gentleman to ever know.Thinking of you alway's and never could ever forget you and your wonderful family.

Gene Calvi was one of the most friendly and easy going people I ever knew working in the City or anywhere else. He was also excellent at his job.
I worked with Gene at UBS. I was the Italian Lire Repo trader in London and Gene was my counterpart in N.Y. covering our stateside clients. We would deal by phone every day. Gene would always take the time to enquire about my young son Jack before getting down to business. We met many times and enjoyed many good lunches and dinners. I left UBS before Gene did and retired from the world of bond trading to live in B.C. Canada. As a result I hadn't realised that he had moved to Cantors or that he had been lost in the 9/11 atrocity.
I'm sure I speak for everyone who ever worked with Gene in saying that the world is by far a poorer place without him.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you Gino. We didn't speak often but we were close. I can't begin to explain the pain I felt when I realized that you were gone. Never coming home. We grew up together. I burned my leg on that Honda you re-built riding around Madison High. There were no foot rests. I still have the scar. Our families are close, our sisters best friends. But you,you were always special in my heart!!! It's just so unfair and hard to beleive that we lost you on that horrible day!!! My heart breaks mercilessly to see your mother Emma suffer, And your dad Mario, hasn't been the same and I don't think he ever will be. We were all so proud of you and loved you so much. Every time I see Gabriella I can't help but bring you up. We miss you Gino. God only knows how much we love. you!!!!!!!!!! Chrissy, you were the love of his life. My heart will always go out to you. I'm a better person for having known you Gino. Thank you for the memories!!!! We'll always have the summer of '83 in Italy Gigi!!!!!xoxo

Gene,
We worked together "across the Atlantic" all those years ago, when you worked for UBS New York and I worked at UBS London. My surname was Blyde then - you were in Operations like me and then you moved onto the Repo desk to become a trader.
We only knew each other for a relatively short time and met only a few times when you were in Ldn or I was in NY, but we became friends and kept in touch for a while by e-mail, even after we both moved on from UBS.
You were the nicest guy, serious about work but always enjoying a laugh! You always made time to assist your colleagues, no matter how busy you were.
I was so sorry to hear that you passed on 9/11 - so were our former UBS work colleagues such as Rosalyn, Jules, Nigel, Manny, Rod and Armand and the rest. We remember you often.
I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to your wife and family. The world is a poorer place without you.

I worked with Gene at QV Trading in NY. I didnt work directly with Gene, I knew him indirectly. From what I knew of him, he was a great guy, and one of the true good people of the world. We who knew him are that more fortunate that we did, and he touched our lives.
Condolences to his family and loved ones

I was in Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity with Gino at SUNY Buffalo. He was EVERYTHING a human being should be. A caring person who didn't know how to say no to anyone.
I cried like a child when I heard his name mentioned on WPLJ radio as one of the missing a day or two after the attacks.
Although we kind of lost touch in later years, I will never forget you. May you rest in peace....

I never met Luigi Calvi. A quilting
group put out a call to make a block
for a WTT victim. I chose Mr.Calvi, because of his first name. It brought back childhood memories of my Italian relatives. When I found out he was from Naples, it made choosing him even more special. .

I was lucky to meet Gino thru his wife Chris, a wonderful friend. Two beautiful people, both inside and out. Although our paths crossed but only a few times, I have warm memories of him - Sunday long runs, a ride on their SVU for a Central Park race and coffee and bagels in their kitchen afterwards, and especially a Philly 8K: Running the first mile together then him speeding off; getting his "hi five" on the out-and-back course and a sweaty hug after crossing the finish line. The last time we met when he safe kept my stuff in their car while I ran the 5K. The ultimate nice guy. Rest in peace my friend - I'm sure your beloved dalmatian is keeping you company. Your kindness and spirit will never be forgotten.

I only knew Geno by seeing him in the neighborhood or walking his dog.I would see him and his wife running on the weekends and wish I had taken time to really know him as now I miss seeing him. My son Dennis was also lost at WTC as well as his brother in-law Tom so I feel we are all drawn togeather by this terriable tradgy we must all live with. My heart goes out to Christine his wife who also just lost her Father. I cry for you Geno's family and I pray for you.
May God grant you peace. May he bless us all.

I worked with Gene at QV Trading Systems. He was a great guy and seemed to always have a smile for you. He was my information guy, my dictionary and my thesaurus. Along with being the purveyor of strange and interesting facts.
I wish his family the best and hope they will find comfort and peace soon.

May Gene's curiosity of how things work, his life and love live on in those who love him. May you find peace and strength in warm memories of times shared with Gene. We are very sorry for your loss of Gene. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
