Remembering Nancy on the 20th anniversary of 9/11....

You are remembered, Nancy.

Remembering you still, Nancy.
October 22, 2016
As my husband Joe and I participated in the final America's 9-11 Ride this year, we continue to remember and honor you Nancy Diaz. We continue to hold you dear to our hearts. When we found your picture this year inside the 9-11 memorial in New York, the tears flowed freely at the loss of a life that was needlessly taken. We will forever hold your card that we selected during the ride's 10 year anniversary. We continue to pray for your loved ones and friends who must miss you dearly.

Although we did not know Nancy personally, my husband and I participated in the America's 9/11 Ride in honor of her memory this year. May God bless your family. You were taken too soon...thoughts and prayers go out to your family and all of the victims who lost their lives 10 years ago.

On this day, I took time to remember the victims of 9/11 and although I did not have anyone close to me suffer on that horrific day and the days to follow after, I do recount a day that touched my heart. I was on a plane to El Salvador, not long after 9/11 and I was sitting next to a young man who I could tell was very sad. He began to share with me his story and how his girlfriend Nancy Diaz was killed on that day in the North Tower. I was blessed to have been able to share with him that day and comfort him in his sorrow. And although I do not remember his name I will never forget about Nancy, and I say a prayer for her family. My deepest sympathy is with you all, and I wish you all the peace of God, that He will give you strength.

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico and watched this event unfold on TV. I saw both towers fall and I will never forget how I felt. About one month later - 10/01 - a woman in Albuquerque began selling silver braclets with names of victims. I called and ordered two with the specific that they had to work in the Windows of the World restaurant. I received my bracklet with Nancy's name on it. I will wear it today - 9/11/03 - and remember her. This will be my tribute to her each year on this day.

I was given a card to pray for the family of Nancy Diaz and I will earnestly do so. The greatest comfort I find is the Bible. It states that "No Weapon Formed Against Us Shall Be Able To Prosper" and though the enemy walks around AS a roaring Lion (picture him with no teeth) he only makes a lot of noise. Through it all be encouraged!!! I pray God's peace that passeth all understanding that will keep your hearts and your mind through Christ Jesus and consolation during this time. Bless you and your family!

I did not know you or anyone else who lost their life that horrible day last September. I am so sorry that we have lost so many wonderful people who still had so much to give. May God Bless you and watch over the ones that you left behind. Rest in his loving peace forever more.

IN OUR HEARTS
We thought of you with love today.
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday.
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories.
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart.

We are very sorry for your loss of Nancy. May her life and love live on in all who love her. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
