Happy birthday Nicole. Never met you but never forgot you and others. So much good has been said about you. So much you accomplished in your short stay on earth. Little did I know we lived so close to each other at the time. I passed the street the other day and happened to look up and saw your name. Happy that you were honored and will be remembered along with all the other souls that made the journey with you.

Yvette, last year I was watching the 911 memorial. They were showing things donated to the museum and I saw that your mom had donated your bracelet. When I saw the photo of the bracelet I got chills all over and started to uncontrollably sob. I knew I needed to find out more about you I felt this connection to you! Turns out we share the same birthday (October 4), were both receptionists at firms in our 20s, and we’re both latina! oh girl, ever since that day I’ve thought about you all the time! We would have been the best of friends for sure! I’m so sorry you’re gone from this earth but I know you’re in Heaven. I can’t wait till we can meet and celebrate our birthday together! That will be so amazing Yvette! Until then I’ll blow out a candle for you on our special day! Hugs to heaven for you! Can’t wait to see you Yvette!

To my forever bff & my second husband. :-) I miss u so much. You were my partner in crime for so long. I remember all of those Sundays that we spent in Barnes and Noble in BayPlaza laying on the leather green sofa and reading the day away. It pains me so much to have lost you. I have good days and some not so good. I still can't see Mom as often as I'd like too and I still can't walk into your bedroom even though Mom was strong enough to change it but I have kept my promise to have Doeboy as a big part of mine, Cesare and my lil boy Reli's life. Ruben(yor nephew)trick or treats every year with Reli and they are being raised as cousins. I know you look over us because I can still feel you around at times where I am lost. I have never and will never have another friend like you. No one will have extra keys to my car, my house and be allowed to walk around in her boxers and addidas slippers because those were things only you could ever do. BTW I kept your Nikes(the ones that you used to walk around in when you wanted new sneakers) and the Maroon Kenneth Cole Leather which I wear when I want a piece of you to go with me to a party or an important event. You will always be in my heart and I know that you are waiting for me in Heaven so that we could cause more craziness. Until we meet again my beloved friend..

Hi Baby,
Well here we are, another year gone by and you still bring tears to my eyes and my heart aches when I think of you, but I know you are with Dona Lillie keeping watch over us. Things are gotten somewhat better for us, especially your mom. Your nephew is soooo big and so cute and he has your mom wrapped around his little finger and he looks just like his dad. I miss you much and I think of you often. Your mom and I need to reconnect. Don't get me wrong, we still talk to each other, but it's just been awhile and we're both so busy. We both need to stop and smell the roses...you know how we are.
I love you and miss you.

Dearest Yvette,
I can't believe it's been 5 years already. I think of you often and it still seems unreal. I haven't seen you in years before I moved to Florida but you were always special to me because we were pretty tight at one point during our St. Catharine days. I look through our pictures all the time and can't help but smile at all the good times we had. May God bless you, and your family and keep them safe. I know that you are dearly missed by anyone and averyone who knew you well.
God Bless!

Hey Yvette,
Here we are, 5 years later, seems like yesterday. I just felt the need to say I miss you on this anniversary date. Although I have several good memories of you, my best one is the time I had dinner at your house, and we were doing the dishes or sometime and you had bent down and I saw your tattoo which I complimented but the look on Ivy's face sent us both into a panic. It was the funniest thing and you were so quick to rat your brother with a "He's got one too!" All Ivy could do was laugh.
I think of you all the time and miss you dearly.
May God Bless You Always and keep you near.

Hey Yvette,
I remember the last time we spoke. It was at Lehman, we were both registering for classes. We swapped horror stories about the whole process and had a good laugh. Although we were never very close, I always considered you family and I have kept you in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you, Ivy, Roland, Nancy, Heaven and baby Ruben.

Hey Yvette,
I can still remember the last time I saw you at titi Hilda's house and exactly what you were wearing that day. It was during our "baggy-pants" days. LOL! You always had this beautiful big smile that was so contageous. I know that we never were very close, but through this tragedy I feel so much closer to you and your family. Memories and dreams that I've had of you bring tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart. I love you and I know that everyone you've touched in heaven love you just as much. God bless you, sweetie. xoxoxo

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
Yvette,I love you and miss you very much girl. Til we meet again.
Ivy and Roland, you guys are always in my prayers. I love you.

Dear Moreno Family
As of late I've been thinking of the friends I lost in 9/11, Yvette being one of them along with Steve Mercado. First let me send my prayers to the Family. I went to school with Yvette in Holy Family. It was always Me, Yvette and Joyce. We had all reunited prior to the 9/11 ATTACK.I still can't believe what happened.
I recently saw Ivy ( Yvettes Mom) on Stickball Blvd., the first thing that came out of my mouth was Yvette's name. Ivy was stunned, it wasn't until she said her name "Ivy": that i realized my error. They look identical.
Miss you
Jennifer

When 9/11 hit, I prayed I didn't know anyone that died that day.I even had a check list of people to make sure they were ok....but it wasn't until 2 years later that I learned of the lost of a very cool person, whom I went to elementary school with back in the day...
Yvette you are deeply missed I love you. I wished we would have kept in touch more. The last time I saw you was on a train going to work a couple of years ago and you looked beautiful as always. I will remember your smile and I will see you soon. RIP my friend, your always in my heart..

I cannot describe how I felt the day I had seen Yvette's picture on a missing persons bulletin here in the Bronx. It all still seems so surreal. I remember back in the days hangin with Yvette, Doe Boy, Buck and Norm. It seems like it was just yesterday. The last time I saw Yvette was on the train coming home from work. She was telling me about her new job at Carr Futures. She seemed really happy about the position. We both agreed that we need to catch up on things and go out one night. Unfotunately, that time never came. My deepest condolences go out to her mom, Ivy and brother Roland. Know that she will always be remembered with love.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-

We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
