In memory....
Kristine

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

I wore Raul's name on my paper heart as I sang in the Rolling Requiem last Wednesday. We sang in the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg, an appropriately beautiful place for so solemn an occasion.
There were so many singers that we filled the main marble staircase and spilled over onto the second floor.
As we sang I was able to glance down at his name and wonder if somehow his spirit could sense our caring and our remembering. I hope so.
Sincerely,
Joan Appleton Costanza

Hi my name is Irene and I had the priveledge to wear Raul's name in my ribbon today. As I received my ribbon in school today I had no idea who Raul Hernandez was all I knew is that he was a victim of september 11th. As i watched the news I looked at the picture of every person whose name were being mentioned then I saw Raul's face and with tears in my eyes I tried to imagine what his life might have been like what his family might have been going through and then I realise that never in my life have I felt a little bit of the incredible pain that i Know you guys(his family) are going through. I Know that I just now learned about Raul's life and how he was an incredible and generous man and for this I apolagize. I know this letter wont bring Raul back but this letter will let you (his family) know that Raul had an impact in somebody's life and that he has changed the way I looked at things and my appreciation for life. I want to thankyou so much for giving me a different look in life and I want to thank Raul for being an incredible person because is people like him that make America a great place to live in.
I Know this might not mean alot but I send you all the love I have in my heart, and I want to end by telling you guys that I know that Raul is up above with god incredibly happy that people are getting closer together and becoming part of a United nation.
All my love and remberence to Raul.
I will remember you forever.

IN OUR HEARTS
We thought of you with love today.
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday.
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories.
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake.
With which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart.

We are very sorry for your loss of Raul. May his kindness, life and love live on in those who love him. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
