Rest In Peace, Cesar.
May your wonderful memories linger in your family to alleviate the pain of your sudden and tragic passing.
You replaced my boss accountant, your "tukayo." You led a staff of 7 that included your cousin Felipe and Tony Alger, also from Laguna. I quit to move on and go back to school, so I did not know more about you, but having an older brother. Plus, you were quiet.
I happened to turn the TV on years after 9/11 running photos of people mentioning each name. It was Oprah´s channel commemorating the victims at the Twin Towers. I saw the faces that went by each screen shot and there mentioned "Cesar Alviar." Recollecting what I just saw, it was my boss. Sad moment to see him again after my resignation in 1966.

I don't know if the family will see this but I wanted to let them know that this past Sept. 11th I ran a "We will never forget" 5k, put on by the Naval base here in Guam,in memory of all who lost their lives that day. Each runner pinned a name of a victim and ran in their honor and I was given Mr. Alviar. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

I am proud to say that Cesar was a classmate of mine from our beloved high school of St. John Academy in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines, class of 1958. He was a very close friend and I will miss him. But I shall always treasure the memories of our friendship. To Grace, his wife and their children, I share in your joys and sorrows for Cesar. May Cesar's life and love continue living in all who love him. May the sorrow in your hearts be lightened by warm memories of times together. We are very sorry for your loss of Cesar. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
