Harvey and I were friends in the late 60s. He loved to come to my house and listen to my Dad tell WW 2 stories.
This is a picture of him before we went to a party. What he wrote in the back of the picture, was epic Harvey.
Rest In

I was good friends with Harvey in the late 60s. He would love to come to my house and listen to my Dad tell him war stories.
I am posting a picture of him before we went to a party. On the back is a Harvey, epic autograph, so typical of Harvey.

As 9/11 has passed once more my fond memories of my friend Harvey once again flashed through my mind. Each and every football season Harve would come to one of the games I coached. That weas 35 years of awaiting his visit. If there is a football heaven I know you are there and still a Blue Devil. I love you man.

I was The Harv's apprentice in 1989-90. We had great times at work and on fishing trips. I could write a book on the stories he told and the laughs we had.
I hadn't seen him for many years, and then our mutual friend T Foo set up a reunion at a Yankee game on September 10, 2001. We sat there for three hours in our seats as the game was delayed by rain, not a single pitch thrown, and finally was called (cancelled). We had a ball talking about old times and still had a great time without any baseball.
On our way back to Manhattan, I tried to convince the Harv to go out for a few drinks but he said if he got started, he may stay out late and not be able to go to work the next day. The Harv was trying to be good. He was very responsible to the job.
I'll never forget him swinging the taxi cab door closed, with the same smile on his face as his profile photo here, as I made a last ditch effort in trying to get him to stay out late with us.
T Foo and I feel very fortunate to have had that "going away party" with the Harv the night before the tragedy. Thanks Harv.

The boy you see in the picture is my son Michael and that was 24 short years ago.I met Harve only once and I remember him as a happy guy. I hope he had the best of life from that moment. From the number of names signed in here it looks like he did.
If theres a heaven I hope he`s there.

Picture of Harve in his apt on E72nd (I think) in 1977. He is laughing with Michael Harrison who is now 25 and living in Manchester, England. Also with him fellow Brit Bill Tustian who I think lives in CT now.

Harvey, you were a lovely friend for me & quite a few of us (the English contingent) to have when we all lived in Manhatten in 70's and 80's. You were still in touch with Tina Simmons who I am seeing next weekend. She was the one who told me about you. God rest your soul Harve.

Harve: How sorry am I that we were supposed to get together for dinner two years ago, and I was ill and had to cancel. Haven't seen you for years but have great memories of the early carefree seventies in New York, when you were so much fun and always smiling (when you weren't asleep!) Much love from your Brit friend. Rest in Peace.

I am a member of IBEW Local 15 and we are deeply sorry for your loss of Harvey. May Harvey's smile, life and love live on in those who love him. May the words, "It's the Harve!" continue bringing a smile to your hearts. Our hearts cry with you in your loss of Harvey.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
